Europe Thread 25/26

Our record against the teams left to play this season is L4, D2, W1 & Palace should have been out of sight before the Alcarez show.

A great performance & result against Chelsea but we are going to have to be consistently better than earlier in the season to get any European place.

Live in hope though.
Agreed.
But we do seem to be getting better and hitting a patch of form atm
Next two games are crucial and I'd guess everyone is feeling more confident than at any time this season

I think we need 14-15pts from the last 7 to overtake the RS & Chelsea.
Yeah possibly, I'm just trying to look at a positive but more realistic points tally.

11pts from those fixtures would be a pretty good amount..
14 - 15pts isn't very realistic, but if achieved even his biggest of critics would have to hold there hands up.

sign some full-backs and a decent striker and we'd be away.

I was actually wondering if playing counter-attacking in the CL might not suit us better than trying to get around some minnow's low block..

In any case, if by some miracle we do spawn it in there, we should definitely invite Pierluigi Collina as guest of honour to the first fixture.
Then deny all knowledge of doing so and leave him outside

From 5th to 14th everyone is playing each other every week, so potential for plenty of table hopping and being in or out of European race.
RS play 5 teams
Chelsea 3 teams
Brentford 3 teams
Us 4 teams
Fulham 4 teams
Sunderland 2 teams
Brighton 2 teams
Newcastle 4 teams
Bournemouth 3 teams
Palace 5 teams.

Then you've got the top 4 who can also have a say in who finishes 5-7th. Utd play 5 of those teams, Arsenal & City both with 4 and Villa play 3.

Will be a very interesting finish to the season, but we definitely have to beat Brentford to give ourselves a real good chance. I think 61pts will be enough for 5th and 57pts for 7th, very tight.

I notice Liverpool play Brentford last game of the season at Anfield.

They're going to deny us Europe again aren't they?
Well, just so long as its for on the pitch events.

RS still strong at home but Chelsea have a hard fixture list and in poor form. I think they are catchable. The next 2 games for us are massive win them both and we are massively in the race for champions league football.
Chelsea's run in is brutal. I doubt we catch the RS, tbh, but I fancy us to catch HR Liam's Chelsea. I'm actually more worried about the teams directly around us, as they are all putting runs together at the same time as we are.
