Hahahahahaha.....this is getting better....No one suggested otherwise. I suggest you read my post again. What he suggested is that after the negotiations, when we know the deal, we have another vote, BUT we won't tell anyone beforehand that we will have another vote, somehow we'll be able to keep that in our heads, away from the baying mob and secret from the Germans.........
What's so preposterous about that scenario? Please explain why this couldn't be the Govts strategy that wasn't shared - a bit like their supposed secret negotiating hand...........

It's way less preposterous than the idea that we're somehow going to arrive in Brussels with a set of goals that the EU haven't already figured out for themselves - starting with access to the single market.

Stop digging....we've already had a good laugh......

Well the sun is shining, my granddaughter wants to go to the soft play and she's wondering why I'm in fits of laughter.......see you all later...

i dont mind him actually, he's pretty straightforward about things..even if you dont agree with him, deffo not the type of leader the lid dems need atm tho..

48% lost those two cretins are only worried about them selves or their collegues who will lose their EU pensions - how dare the public go against the mainstream politicians in both houses !!!
They when given rule never got 52 % of any vote in fact if it was constituency target it would be 400 seats for our to 200 for remain a absolute hammering for them democracy wise - they governed this country on less of a vote!
Totally hypocritical the times did a poll in the Times and the out vote had rose to 70%, so roll out these bums !
any politician oe ex politician who is trying to revers democracy of the people are a tragic waste of space Tim farron and Clegg are up there with them two a party of 8 trying to dictate reverse the vote frankly sickens me!

I'm sure both Major and Blair have more than enough money to be comfortable whatever the outcome. Unlike the average Joe on the street who will start to feel the impact when groceries are 5 to 10% more expensive next year and that's before we have even left!

As for the whole you lost so you have no say, i don't think that good for democracy either. Put the other way, if the government keep the single market and freedom of movement would you not want a second referendum to ratify that? Is that what the Brexiteers wanted when they voted out?

Both sides have to be involved to get the most balanced exit possible. We know brexit has a mandate from the referendum but likewise politicians representing the other 48% have a mandate to ensure we are not just thrown off a cliff.

The outcome of the negotiations with the EU is key and likewise what is the government's plan to fill that hole. If they can say through new trade deals they have minimised the effects of leaving the EU and after consulting big businesses they have found a way to keep them based here including the banks (some kind of easy movement for employees of multi national corporations etc.) but we lose the mass free movement and European courts, then I'm sure most people will be happy.

If they say we are keeping the single market, free movement and keep paying into EU coffers then I'm sure Farage and his fellow Brexiteers will be up in arms.

If they say we are just leaving altogether and hoping for the best then us who voted to remain will be up in arms followed by everyone else after a few years of economic hardship.

The point I'm making is that both Blair and Major are correct in the fact we are all (leavers/remainers) allowed to still have some input and the democractic process did not end when the results of referendum were announced.

Hahahahahahahaha.........did you really think about this before typing it.

Right lads here's the plan, to keep everyone happy we're going to have a second vote, but here's the cunning bit, don't tell the Germans.........
I'm pretty sure there won't be a second referendum Pete. If the Govt don't get the mandate they need to negotiate Brexit, they'll just call an early GE. However I think you'll find that most of the electorate will treat this as a second Brexit vote, and will vote accordingly. We'll see what happens then.

In the meantime the delay and uncertainty will continue to have it's negative effect on the economy.

Lid Dems lol

A conference hall at Eastbourne full of pensioners wearing North Face shouting (politely) "keep Britain open, tolerant and united"

They'll make big strides back imo as literally no other party represents the 48% at the moment. The Tories obviously don't, Labour will need to shore up the racists leave voters in their rural constituencies, UKIP are obviously not an option. Who is left?

Read my post major and Blair are looking after the mates who will lose theier EU pensionS and the big corporation businesses who cream of the profits of the EU!
By the way the forecast from the professional experts are the same ones pre referendum who predicted disaster the day after Brexit
OUT means out instead of optimism it's just pesmism because the political elite lost - we have the whole world to fade with this big EU market of 27 countries apart from Germany all have zero growth the experts predict only exports of 35 percent in the future so in the negotiations we are in the driving seat - countries in the WTO are cueing up for trade with us the USA in particular can open us to the same market with richer e onomies than the
EU!
Old footage from both sides tells you in the three month campaign it was SO CLEAR that we would leave the single market!
The sooner we start negotiations the better , and yes Parliment should be informed on every deal that is done or not done not the people as they did that on June the 23rd!

I love how Farage has been branded as some kind of man of the people. A former banker who went to Dulwich College, has been a politician for 25 years and is backed by a range of wealthy and influential people, not least of whom are the Barclay's, who own the Daily Telegraph. I'm not sure quite how he could be more 'political elite' if he tried.

Add Johnson, Gove, IDS et al as well.

That's what amazed me most about Brexit and Trump - the wholesale conning of the working class, when the reality is they'll foot the bill.

i keep thinking this, but the polls arent showing it..and they are always right :hayee:

its a shame they dont have a more charismatic/strong leader or they would clean up...the bi-election with them vs goldsmith will be interesting
