48% lost those two cretins are only worried about them selves or their collegues who will lose their EU pensions - how dare the public go against the mainstream politicians in both houses !!!
They when given rule never got 52 % of any vote in fact if it was constituency target it would be 400 seats for our to 200 for remain a absolute hammering for them democracy wise - they governed this country on less of a vote!
Totally hypocritical the times did a poll in the Times and the out vote had rose to 70%, so roll out these bums !
any politician oe ex politician who is trying to revers democracy of the people are a tragic waste of space Tim farron and Clegg are up there with them two a party of 8 trying to dictate reverse the vote frankly sickens me!
I'm sure both Major and Blair have more than enough money to be comfortable whatever the outcome. Unlike the average Joe on the street who will start to feel the impact when groceries are 5 to 10% more expensive next year and that's before we have even left!
As for the whole you lost so you have no say, i don't think that good for democracy either. Put the other way, if the government keep the single market and freedom of movement would you not want a second referendum to ratify that? Is that what the Brexiteers wanted when they voted out?
Both sides have to be involved to get the most balanced exit possible. We know brexit has a mandate from the referendum but likewise politicians representing the other 48% have a mandate to ensure we are not just thrown off a cliff.
The outcome of the negotiations with the EU is key and likewise what is the government's plan to fill that hole. If they can say through new trade deals they have minimised the effects of leaving the EU and after consulting big businesses they have found a way to keep them based here including the banks (some kind of easy movement for employees of multi national corporations etc.) but we lose the mass free movement and European courts, then I'm sure most people will be happy.
If they say we are keeping the single market, free movement and keep paying into EU coffers then I'm sure Farage and his fellow Brexiteers will be up in arms.
If they say we are just leaving altogether and hoping for the best then us who voted to remain will be up in arms followed by everyone else after a few years of economic hardship.
The point I'm making is that both Blair and Major are correct in the fact we are all (leavers/remainers) allowed to still have some input and the democractic process did not end when the results of referendum were announced.
