Well, the trail I read went something like this - The Esk was arguing that (1) the referendum is advisory and (2) Brexit has been poorly managed so far.

You retorted by saying he should get over it because he lost in a two horse race.

I fail to see where the "all the crap lobbed at you" is coming from, I'm not seeing much of it.

You conveniently omit to mention that the 'Leave' voters at various points in this thread have been called bigots, racists, and other such disgraceful things. But when someone like myself deigns to hit back, it is met with faux indignation.

Pathetic...

So when you say you changed your mind you voted Remain and would now vote Leave or you voted Leave and now would REALLY vote Leave?
Just for Peteblue really. You claim that this thread has changed your thinking. Do you mean reinforce you opinions? I think this because you originally voted Leave, yes?

What I was originally getting at, and not at you mate(!), was that I doubt a single person in this thread has changed from a Remain to Leave or vice versa.

It's just a general observation really. And not just this thread but social media as a whole. I just don't think people change their minds through this medium. It just ends up as a round-a-bout of opinion.

I honestly can't imagine a Leave or Remain voter will have changed their mind through debate on here.

Hi mate, thanks for your contribution, good to have fresh thoughts.

There's nothing in your post that I disagree with, in fact it supports what I am saying.

The AV referendum was binding because the supporting legislation said it was specifically. The EU Referendum Act could have made the referendum decision binding but either by design or neglect did not do so.

Hence my argument.
It was the phrase "David Cameron's government" that made me suspicious!!! I do think that it should parliament's duty to ratify any referendum, either before or after the event, but find it difficult to believe that no-one in the political sphere seems to have considered what the process would be after a leave vote other than we activate Article 50.

He sounds as angry as I feel. It's a fiasco brought about by personal political agendas, racism and lies.
Yes but apparently we're not allowed to actually be angry about it.

We should just shut up and accept it despite the fact that those who wanted out have been talking about it for 30-40 years.

But ok....

Social media can be quite the echo chamber at times.

One of the amusing parts of the referendum was remoaners suggesting that they'll leave the country. Their top picks were Canada, Australia and America. All of which are not in the EU.
And all of them have either point based systems that you would need to pass or they require that you need to be qualified enough to be allowed entry. This is deeply ironic because these same remainers would of been horrified if it was suggested the UK adopt the same systems.

Genuinely there was ban on even discussing or planning for Article 50 at HMRC prior to the election. All focus had to be on er, making sure the Referendum was for remain. Hence the massive recruitment drive and cross-department sift for anyone at SO / Grade 7 that could join the team as soon as possible.

It's all very Yes Prime Minister, isn't it?

Got to be honest here mate, you've departed from any hint of debate and descended into angry nutter (and not for the first time). Like reading the ramblings of @iliketrump through Farage spectacles

Has anyone actually said Leave voters are bigots and racists, or are you referring to people arguing that the way in which the Leave campaign was conducted appealed to racists and bigots?

There is a key difference there.
