Thank you. Don't get me wrong George and John could be both brilliant and not so. Mayo in particular had the most amazing ideas but we all felt that it was a game to him, a way to push up the price of the company before trying to dispose of it. George Simpson was different, he was a builder of companies and one of the nicest people you would ever meet. I remember just after he'd been made a Lord and so of course I asked him, so what do we call you now, George he said.......the biggest mistake was after selling Marconi Electronic Systems to BAES for just under £8Bn, monies were amongst other things returned to shareholders and then when we bought the American companies we paid cash. But Mayo had an ego the size of a Planet.....

Interesting bit of corporate history Pete, thanks.

And 16 million odd voters are already peed off nationwide, with quite probably a few million more migrants that weren't eligible to vote. Their voices count too, yet they've been ridden roughshod over on account of them being in an incredibly slim minority in an opinion poll.

Bang on.

The Brexit vote and its surrounding cocktail of lies, racism and bigotry has palpably diminished us as a nation. The UK feels a smaller, less-likeable place and I don't see any of the benefits that were promised us by the serpent-tongued brexiteers. Parliamentary sovereignty? Ah, so you weren't really interested in British courts ruling on British matters or in the UK Parliament having sovereignty over the political direction of the land. I see. It was just empty-headed xenophobia and political opportunism.

And today's "Enemies of the People" Daily Mail front-page splash is, quite frankly, fascism. The intimidation of the judiciary for upholding the rule of law. Creeping Fascism - nothing more, nothing less.

Well done, all you brexiteers. What a brave new world you have created, to have such sentiments in it.

But we haven't left yet. So all this racism, bigotry blah blah blah is happening while we're in the EU. We need to leave so we create a progressive and tolerant society free of hate.

Aaaaand the ball starts rolling again.

I wasn't aware that racism, bigotry and xenophobia was exclusive to the UK.

Evidently, if you're concerned about uncontrolled immigration, it automatically makes you a fully paid-up fascist. Nevermind if you used your democratic vote.

Not the first time judges have been wrong, won't be the last. As for this alleged 'intimidation' - how, exactly?

Dude. Plastering judges' faces all over the the front page (disapprovingly listing one as "openly gay") because they had the nerve to uphold the law of the land. If you can't see that as the populist rabble-rousing that it is then there's no hope for you.

I never said we weren't. I was observing the unleashing of nastiness and hatred that has followed the Brexit vote. We are already a smaller country for it and we haven't even cleared our desk and sodded off yet.
You mean like labelling large swathes of the population uneducated, racist and unworthy of the right to vote?
