And not only with regards to existing EU trade deals, but as we discussed the other day, we also have to re-join the World Trade Organisation and renegotiate our terms for that, as our existing membership is based on our membership of the EU.

That isn't to say that we won't renegotiate WTO membership and trade deals with the ~50 countries the EU has deals with that are better than what we currently have, but even in this extremely best case scenario, it's a bloody lot of work that will take a very long time. In the meantime, it seems hard to deny that we're in something of a pickle.

It isn't. We were members of the WTO and GATT before that and remain as members in our own right. All Eu members are WTO members in their own right, even the EU is a member of WTO separately from it's members. We may have to negotiate some tariffs but the membership question is a falsehood.......

What is hard to deny is that the BBC, Miliband and Clegg and co are doing their absolute best to talk the UK down.....

Esk was quoting fact, Pete was chatting bubbles

Do you understand the difference between fact and misguided opinion?

We have already proven that you have no idea what you are talking about. You seem to think that being unencumbered by experience or knowledge gives you some insight. Well it doesn't and you don't......

It offered the certainty of the single market, the uncertainty created by Brexit has seen our currency die on its arse

In any case what Esk and Pete were discussing wasn't subjective opinion it was the facts around our trading agreements, one was right, the other misguided

You just got them the wrong way around though, as usual......

Ah I see, we're "talking ourselves" into a poor economy are we?

Nothing to do with all the very logical and sound arguments made explaining why in fact Brexit is causing these problems?

We're just being too negative and making a recession happen? Silly us

Name 5 logical and sound reasons then....straight off the cuff.....clock running.....

The worst thing about all of this is whatever deal we end up with is very unlikely to please anyone at the end of the day, especially when we agree to Free Movement in order to acquire it

There's no way we'll put a hard border up between Southern and Northern Ireland. It was a hugely important step in the peace process and ending Free Movement means we'd have to put one up as Ireland would be classed as the EU, at which point all the hard work of the past two decades would be destroyed in an instant

For that reason alone, we'll keep Free Movement and most of the people who voted Brexit for it to be abolished are going to be utterly furious, causing yet more division amongst the populace

A complete and utter mess

So when Esk categorically stated that the UK' s trading relationships had been 'blown apart', not will be, not maybe, not possibly, but had been, you can prove this then.........this should be interesting.....
