No tarriffs, on exports or imports to the EU, but a bang load of bureaucracy and delays for UK goods and services, financial services won’t be happy. Critically for me why would you set up or keep your company in the UK now, when you don’t have any of the messing by setting up or moving to the EU. But you will be able to send me back to Ireland if I fancy a weekend over for a match. So every cloud.

Thanks lads! :)

And bureaucracy ultimately costs money, and who is going to pay for it... First wheel bearing on the reinvented Morris Marina begins to shatter...

Prepare to export goods from Great Britain to the EU from 1 January 2021 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

I think we will be fine. We have essentially the same trade and customs deal with the EU. We are a pretty decent country. And we are, when chips are down, a stubborn Island nation.

My opposition to leaving was that so many were sold a false narrative. We have always had control of our laws, money, borders and whatever else Johnson trumpeted about regaining today.

Yes I agree with a lot of that.

Demographically though, each generation feels more European and connected to the EU, and wants to do so for work and travel etc.

Its crude, but in 10 years the same vote shares we probably end up re joining. The question will be if a party will raise it on a manifesto question. I think within a couple of cycles the Liberal Democrats will.

How about calming down and realising people have other opinions. For all the moral high ground remainers take, and their love of calling brexiters thick, inbred ot take your pick... the mask slips quite often
I've never called anyone 'take your pick'. Sickening language, no place in polite society.

I know you weren't using it in that way, but for everyone's sake, let's not go there.

And I tell you what, I'm as Remainer as they come l, but if I ever saw anyone calling someone a 'take your pick' I'd report them instantly. End of!

Surprised by the jubilant reaction to this deal in the UK media.

Very little good in it from a UK perspective. Here’s how it’s being reported on Europe and a break down of rights lost for UK citizens.

A look at the detail: What is in the Brexit trade deal?

The pro-remain UK media have been anything but jubilant in their reaction. The BBC has given Kuenssberg more screentime than ever before and she's spitting bile as per normal. I'm amazed she doesn't just deliver her "reports" in French. Channel 4 is on the verge of advocating civil war.

Maybe just maybe the pro remain UK media like sky BBC channel 4 and the pro remain papers like the mail and express will get on with it now. The regular stories about what brexit will do to us. Scare tactics of the highest degree. But they will probably just intensify the covid scare tactics.
