What do we actually get in return?

No tarriffs, on exports or imports to the EU, but a bang load of bureaucracy and delays for UK goods and services, financial services won’t be happy. Critically for me why would you set up or keep your company in the UK now, when you don’t have any of the messing by setting up or moving to the EU. But you will be able to send me back to Ireland if I fancy a weekend over for a match. So every cloud.

Thanks lads! :)

What do we actually get in return?
  • No free movement of people: UK citizens will no longer have the freedom to work, study, start a business or live in the EU. They will need visas for long-term stays in the EU. Border checks will apply, passports will need to be stamped, and EU pet passports will no longer be valid for UK residents.
  • No free movement of goods: Customs checks and controls will apply to all UK exports entering the EU. UK agri-food consignments will have to have health certificates and undergo sanitary and phytosanitary controls at Member States’ border inspection posts. This will cost UK businesses time and money.
  • No free movement of services: UK service providers will no longer benefit from the country-of-origin principle. They will have to comply with the – varying – rules of each EU country, or relocate to the EU if they want to continue operating as they do today. There will be no more mutual recognition of professional qualifications. UK financial services firms will lose their financial services passports.

Now we need to announce the building of a new Royal ship Britannia to shoot around the globe oiling the wheels of trade deals and flying the flag. We’ve been sat on our bleeding hands, moping around for too long. Build or buy a ship, use one of the Carriers if need be, and get our salesmen and women out there doing deals....come on Boris this is what you were made for.......

you really have drunk all the kool-aid, haven't you?

Anyway, while you all do your best SNP impression and seek grievances , I shall depart to start my Christmas celebrations. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Sovereign New Year......

All the best mate. Can't wait to stand and bellow 'god save the queen' after the queen's speech tomorrow

Can people actually realise that not all Labour members and voters are scousers!

Not that simple, now he has got to replace the EU subsidiaries, and if anything compares to Welsh Farming on what it was promised and what it got, Johnson and Tory government is about to take a large poo on them too. Factor in a very poor pandemic yet expensive and positively profitable for a few response.

Johnson and his Party will take people for fools if you or he believe immigration and race was the issue, it's wholesale underinvestment in these areas is the cause, let's see the rules on state aid in this two thousands page document, then we will talk sovereignty. My guess we will be dancing EU tune for years to come on many many issues.

Those leavers in those former labour walls want more than just Brexit. Now they want all that money saved invested in their areas, for the secure jobs which will buy them houses and the life they strife for.

they are going to have a long wait for that

We need to see the deal before we can determine it. That table relates to people and goods, but not services, which is what the UK economy mainly is based on.

A big shame about the erasmus scheme though, I done a year on that myself.
I too did a year on the Erasmus scheme many, many moons ago. I benefited immensely from it and have sympathy for those who don't get the same opportunity.

Nauseating infatuation this.

You're supposed to be a hardened squash buckling business leader, why are you acting like you're a 12 year old at a Harry Styles gig?
