I've spent the day building a tree house for my children, so would someone be able to objectively tell me what we've signed up for.

Are we being buggered or is this a mutual hand job?
Wait for the detail.

Holding position really should be a deal is better than none at all...and seemingly the UK haven't moved on any of their defensive issues, but made no positive gains.

Hand jobs remain tariff free but require the correct paperwork.

Veterinary certificates may be required.

An independent appeal panel will assess if hand job standards diverge.

Farage is waving a semi at the telly and is keen to test the new hand job rules.

For those of us who don’t speak Spanish....

”Welcome to the beginning of the agreement between the EU and the UK. Congratulations to @MichelBarnier, @vonderleyen and their teams. The Member States will examine it and @EUCouncil will comment in the coming days.

Spain and UK continue to dialogue to reach an agreement on Gibraltar.”
Didn't know you spoke Español Pablo.

Pro tip - just click Translate tweet like Pete has done here.

It’s a statement of fact, unless you want to claim three and a half centuries of history didn’t happen. Also you are making the mistake of thinking what happens now is what will happen in ten or twenty years; there’s every chance after all that the EU is not going to be so dependent on the US at the end of that time.
I wasn't disputing the history you were right. Still think even in 20 the EU will be still dependant on nto and hence the US.
unless the EU are going to have a massive increase in military spending. But even Germany with its wealth dosnt reach the 2% nato target. So I cant see the EU massively 8ncresing its military .

Interesting to hear in the news report that one little snippet got past the BBC's editorial team. The EU wanted the entire trade deal to gradually come into effect over a 14-year transitional period, whereas the UK wanted a three-year transition... final agreement is for a five-year interval.
