Have a go if you want mate, plenty seem to relish in it o_O

But on a more serious note;

All my reading and the still very little knowledge, I have is after the event mate. I didn't even know there were two courts in Europe !

head or heart ? difficult to determine, bit of both. I will give you some of my thoughts at the time, and you can decide

1. There was a speech in parliament that went along the lines of 'how can the public trust us when we cant trust ourselves ?' (giving away our powers to the EU, didn't like the sound of that)

2. More money going out than in, and I was aware of that before the big red bus (which I wasn't entirely convinced by, but it did cost money for membership for sure and it was a lot)

3. homeless people on the streets around here, yet I read about £50k rock sculptures being erected in town centres fully funded by the EU, whats that all about ? priorities all wrong, look after the citizens, do something to help lives then get all artzy farty if there is any money left

4. I just don't like what the press call 'political elites'. The thought of a bunch of politicians on mainland Europe making the rules that govern me ? how do they know what I want ? who would I contact ? just seemed like a big organisation and I would have absolutely no say in what went on in there. At least here I can walk to the MP's local office if I need to. Bruce said he supported frederalism, I am the opposite.

5. and the main one, and this is absolutely the top of the pile. Cameron, Obama, Richard Branson, and all the others telling me how the EU is so much better for everyone. Then I drive through the town and see the utter devastation thats been inflicted on the place so this was my one opportunity to say F.U all. - and yes I am aware that it isn't the all EU's fault, although the fishing quotas didn't help, that does not stop the gov spending money here. so to all those politicians who knew what was best for me while I saw with my own eyes the opposite ? yeah FU, and have a middle finger while I vote to leave.

Note 1. I have a daughter and granddaughter so anything I did was with their future in mind, if I had thought being in the EU was going to be better for them then that makes my vote change.

Note 2. Immigration and racism, I can't speak for other parts of the country but around here there isn't any of either. We don't have any settled immigrants, sorry that spoils the general narrative but we just don't, people from other EU countries just haven't affected my life in anyway shape or form. (As far as racism goes two idiots did set fire to the local mosque door a few years ago, but that was more to do with ISIS than the EU according to their testimony at trial.)

Note 3.
a. If I lived in London or a city and saw some of the good the EU does I probably vote differently. but I don't.
b. If I lived in a town where there were a lot of immigrants 'taking all the jobs' then the Farage posters probably affect my vote. But I don't.

let me know, was it head or heart ?
Heart

To be honest, you make it pretty clear that you had no idea of what you were voting for.

1. If you agree with this line would you say that all local governments should be doing the same and trying to push away from any form of government in Westminster?

2. Surely you are aware this is a fairly pointless way of looking at it? As a basic figure the UK does spend more than it gets back but it ignores trade, immigration, etc.

3. This is just ridiculous logic. If you cared so much you'd be putting your effort into trying to ensure tax laws in UK were tighter not voting in a way that will relax that.

4.' Political elites'. You just got played. You have a say. You vote.

5. This is just crazy. You voted because very rich people told you how to vote and then try and say you did it to say FU to rich people?

You didn't vote with your head or your heart, you voted on made up nonsense that you were fed and you didn't think through.

Hang on a minute...

Ministers say it is needed to prevent "damaging" tariffs on goods travelling from the rest of the UK to Northern Ireland if negotiations with the EU on a free trade agreement fail.

I thought going alone wouldn't create a damaging tariffs? If they damage NI then surely they will be damaging for customers in the rest of the EU that buy British goods (meaning disaster for firms who get a lot of income abroad). Brexiteers, are you finally waking up now our own government are telling you what we've been saying for years?

give it an hour, they’ll be another reason why they are doing this

Chart from yougov, you might find this useful when crafting your replies to the abuse you will soon get.

At least two in here are still in the denial stage from what I can see, then a glut of angers, haven't seen anyone wanting to bargain, but there are definitely a couple of depressions and one acceptance.

That’s what I would have guessed. Sad really. Perhaps the posters in here might like to say where they are on the above chart......

I hope that Brexit is a fantastic success story, and that the UK thrives as a nation and remains as welcoming and multi cultural as ever.

I fear that many of the "benefits" however, you know, what you all knew you were voting for, will not be quite as shiny as Nigel told you they would be. Time will tell. Hope I am wrong.

So do I, but honestly if anyone watching this government behave thinks anything positive will come from a Brexit they are responsible for then that is remarkable.

How can you, for example, criticise China or Russia for breaches of international law if you are happy to do it yourself.

The problem Johnson has is that he signed a deal that was effectively May's deal and did absolutely nothing to address the fundamental problems Brexiters had with it (I suspect Johnson didn't really read it or understand the implications) but they heralded it as a great deal because 'it broke the deadlock and got Parliament working again' which is hilarious given the complete disregard for Parliamentary Sovereignty/Process that has been displayed since.
But but but @peteblue told me Johnson did what nobody else could and bullied the EU into an amazing new deal, you're telling me he just put through May's Chequers deal he himself resigned over but with an added border in the Irish Sea

It's nonsense isn't it? Show's how little faith the Brexit fans have over this that they're trying to show up retainers with this

Nobody likes to hear the dreaded 'I told you so', but James O'Brien has absolutely spot on this entire time and slowly people are waking up to the lie hidden underneath the patriotism.

I‘ll put you down as stage 2 then.....

It'd be odd not to be angry at the result. I accept the result but I'm angry that a group of very rich people lied to play on the fears and bigotry of individuals to encourage them to vote for something that was going to make them worse off.
You might find it amusing that you 'won' and that the country is now run and controlled by the elite, but a lot of us don't and being angry isn't something to be sneered at.

None of this is ‘amusing’, it’s deadly serious, no one has ‘won’ anything but a decision has been made, and we need to enact it. The U.K. has enough enemies who would wish us ill without having political Remainers and the SNP doing all they can to undermine negotiations....
