We voted to Leave, the Remainers insisted we didn’t know what we voted for, then insulted every Leave voter with an ever growing range of insults. Then the remainer mob in the Commons decided to sabotage the negotiations and put every single block in the way of getting a sensible deal in conjunction with the EU, culminating in the most self defeating surrender act ever dreamt up.......
The remainers, johnson, Rees Mogg etc etc

I can't understand why there isn't a consensus at this point for a second referendum between no deal and remain,
I think for two reasons.
1. The first one has caused such huge rifts/arguing/name calling within the general population and parliament (see this thread as a perfect example), that a second referendum would send a lot of people over the edge.

and 2. I can’t see how a second one could not include a third option.....Leave - no deal. Otherwise, you are asking those who voted Leave to choose between Remain or ‘The Deal’, which judging by the comments on here since it was announced, is apparently crap.

So what you are saying is that whenever the U.K. have Europe at arms length, we are encouraging Germany to dominate it, and similarly with the EU, so therefore we must stay in it......gotcha....

No, that is not what was said.

We ignore Europe and what has repeatedly happened over the past 400 years is that some fool - Hitler, Wilhelm II, Bismarck, Napoleon, Louis XIV being the main culprits - tried to take it over.

Men (and lately women) from here go there, stop them at vast cost, we spend the next generation keeping the peace until the next generation after that start to vote Tory again, we walk away, the armed forces get cut and the cycle begins anew.

1. The question wasn't defined, clearly. Nobody knew what Leave meant. That's why the second referendum is necessary - a confirmation. If the country wants to be braindead and vote no deal, so be it, but let's have it crystal clear that we definitely wanted to commit national suicide.

2. I did say no deal. Johnson's deal, once it's voted down in parliament, is like May's deal an irrelevance. If he wants it on a ballot, he should pass it through parliament with it as the option for the second referendum, so that it has been democratically decided in the HoC to be the case.

If not, the two cleanest options should be the replacement questions for a second referendum - do you want to stay, or do you want to completely go. Current deal (remain in the EU) versus no deal.

You can't dispute that the UK people all know more now than they did at the time of the referendum?

It's a complete mess - I was very open to potentially leaving but it's not delivering any benefit to the nation.

The whole thing needs to be sunk stopped - and reviewed.

There's no benefits to it.
