Most of them no longer have any skin in the game

I would think most of them have kids and maybe grandchildren so saying they had no skin in the game is unfair, one thing most folks would have done is think of the impact on their offspring.

If they voted leave then they felt they were doing it for future generations not themselves, if anyone thinks the old folks voted leave because they are selfish then we can agree to disagree.

Rumours that the SNP will support Johnson if he calls for a GE, under a thing called "Despite the fixed term parliament act"

Gets weirder with every passing hour.

Put any Brexit deal back to the public for vote?

Okay, so would the vote be - No Deal or Deal? Isn't that exactly what Johnson is now demanding of Labour? That's what he said today - put the bill to the public to decide in a GE?

So are you now backing what Johnson has demanded?

Or do you mean a totally new ref on Out or In? Which doesn't solve any problem, because if Leave win again then Remain will just moan again, and if Remain win then Leave will argue that it's unfair just like Remain have done for three years. So what do you do then, best of three?

He's a tosser.

I'm from the north. I don't identify with that tosser at all.

I linked it because I think his electoral strategy will be to target the North of England. Where people won’t vote Tory, but will hold their nose and vote Tory in all but name Farage. Will be very successful i think, because labour has let 5 million leave voters down.

Weird how they claim to want independence, but still want be a member of the Eu and adopt the Euro. Strange times we are living in.

Maybe, maybe not. But the stats do show the demographics quite clearly re the vote.

So they either thought that voting leave gave their kids a better future, or they thought that staying in gave them a worse one.

So they believed one version over another.

Not exactly correct. In Switzerland they hold them on a fairly regular basis and their system seems to work fine.
The problem comes when the political and social elite who run the country don't like or agree with the result of the referendum.

On specific policy issues as I understand it.

The implications of leaving the European Union were too complex for a referendum.

That went well.

maybe they are doing it for future generations but maybe they are more prone to sensationalism.
