Nobody is independent inside the EU, that’s the idea. Clearly you don’t know anything about the origins of the project, or where it’s leading.
I interpreted it as independence from the UK.

And I am very much aware of the principle of Independence thanks. And I think suggesting nobody is independent inside the EU is a very simplistic notion.

That's why Scotland's had devolved powers taken from them by Westminster than the eu find acceptable.

Nothing at all. But the point was that it is weird if Sturgeon thinks helping Johnson get a GE, ergo No Deal, will move those aims any nearer. Perhaps she calculates it will.
Ah right, I missed the point he was making then. I think Nicola does believe a no deal brexit will bring the break up of the UK, at the least speed it up.

I don't know how you voted but we can safely say the same thing about (the very avid) Remainers
I didn't vote but a lot of family and friends did.
Leavers like to throw the 'project fear' line about but from this admittedly outside view, predicting an economic downturn, medical shortages, difficulty traveling, and a weakened pound is no where near as sensationalist as the xenophobic tripe Farage and his cronies threw up during the referendum.
Xenophobic propaganda specifically targeted at older and working class communities, sensationalism at it's worst.
I realize that this is probably an upsetting opinion to some but it's how I see it.
It's no different to what's happening here in the States.
We shouldn't be asking if this is happening, we should be asking why this is happening. The answer will most likely involve Rupert Murdoch.

So she will happily see swathes of Scottish industry etc etc under a No Deal scenario for maybe 10 years before the EU let Scotland in?

Like she is probably correct that a No Deal would bring about the break up quicker, but the jump from that to being in the EU in a month or two is quite deluded.

I don't know what meetings she's been having or assurances, if any, she may have had. If and when she calls for another referendum, I'm guessing that EU membership will be high on her ticket, and we'll know a bit more then. If it's going to be rough, it may as well be rough with the prospect of getting back into the EU

This with bells and whistles on.

The public were asked to vote on one question – that one.

They weren't asked to vote for people, or a party. They were asked to vote on that. And the people elected to then act on the majority decision have failed to do so.
Why have they failed to do so?
Could it be that the original question was ill conceived and way too general or vague?
The problem is that a question was asked where nobody knew how to fulfill the answer.
Maybe the sensible thing to do would be to figure out how to leave, go back to the public and say, in or out by means of this agreed upon process.
Postpone article 50 until what ever government can get a withdrawal agreement through parliament and then put it to the public to see if they agree.

Maybe. But either way, its weird she might hitch her skirt to Johnson, a serial liar.
