Well there's one here where life could be radically changed. Would you like to be faced with the possibility of having pension capped and health cover withdrawn. The outcome of this idiocity is vital to 3.5 M people from the EU continent living /working in UK and 1.5M UK citizens in EU Europe. Little englanders can only think about themselves.

I wasn't specific but by Soft Brexit I did mean SM/CU membership and I would also add that all citizens rights are reciprocally agreed bilaterally if the that doesn't cover it.

Basically I'm fine with a form of Brexit where nobody loses anything.

I'm not sufficiently knowledgeable on these things, but if Labour/Corbyn can't drum up a majority via a coalition, but remain the largest party, what happens then?

It's impossible to say without knowing the number of seats held by each party. If Labour were in the position the Conservatives are now, but with anything between 280 - 310 seats, they could probably quite comfortably form a minority government, especially if they only proposed measures which parties such as the SNP, the Lib Dems and Plaid Cymru would basically agree with and not introduce very controversial legislation. What their position on Brexit would be is unclear and therefore a major stumbling block in any possible coatition.

If Labour + allies cant find a majority it means that a coalition of others has the numbers - The Tory Party + Brexit + DUP.

It'd be way too unstable to govern, and last just long enough to get a no deal through...if that's what Johnson really wants...and I doubt he does. Soon after we'd have a Spring 2020 election.

I would assume a minority government with a confidence & supply deal for budgets etc. with however many parties are needed. But that won't be available for a simple £1b bribe, real concessions would have to be made on their legislative agenda, and the price for the LDs and SNP will be referendums. It will be messy but it's the only way I can see it working.

She doesn’t have a seat in Westminster.

She is a queen without a crown....Prime Minister of NI but as that parliament is in mothballs her role is to skulk around Westminster pretending to be party leader whilst Dodds runs the show.

And her days in that role are probably coming to an end as her incompetence and corruption is about to be fully exposed when the RHI Inquiry reports back sometime in the next few weeks.
...ahh, sorry. Underlines my ignorance of NI politics right there.

Is there any chance of Sinn Fein now taking up their seats at Westminster just to protect the GFA?

they will not swear allegiance to the crown , so don't go for that reason not likely to change that stance anytime soon. plus they don't see parliament as a legitimate goverment of their country.

Philip Hammond just went ballistic (for him) on the Today Programme: promising all out civil war in any election against what he calls the "infiltrators and entryists...many of whom aren't probably even members of the Tory Party" who have taken over the leadership.

He and his fellow refusenik chums (Real Tories as they'll position themselves) will come in handy in the upcoming GE campaign.

Tory Party tearing itself to shreds...I like that scenario heading into the election. Makes the LP look like a collegiate body at the moment.

It's all good and moving in the direction of the good guys. Rejoice.

I think you're right. In normal times I'd expect that to hold, but with the fate of the GFA in the balance.....

I read earlier that there might be some change in the leadership of that party and wondered whether it might be linked to this issue. But yeah, it pretty much is a red line they cant go beyond if they want to retain credibility amongst Nationalists.
