Remainers would vote to remain anyway no matter what would be put on the table.

But Imagine you were leaning towards the leave side
Right, so you're saying the flaw is that the leave vote might be split?
Firstly I think a few remainers might go with Mays deal just because they're sick of the whole thing and want to get on with life.
Secondly, if the leave campaign cant unite behind the withdrawal agreement and push for a no deal exit, then they have to accept the results of the final in/out with no deal referendum.
The first referendum gives the people a straight choice on Mays deal, so a vote on how to leave.
The second (if the first is 'no') is a re-run of in/out but this time it's clear that 'out' means no-deal.
This way, rather than circumventing the democratic wish of the people, you're clarifying it.

Seems a sensible way of doing it. Are the referendums based on a simple majority or do you need to achieve a set percentage to agree. In any event, at least they are getting the buy in of the majority of their people to decisions being made regarding EU membership.

However I'm not altogether sure this type of thing would have worked with the UK. If we put these big decisions to the people all the time I doubt the EU would ever get any business done.lol
you're right, but that said, I think participating on referendums on Maastrict (sp?), Nice, and Lisbon twice, gave the Irish population a better understanding of the EU. Maybe, had the British had referendums through the process, you would already have had a far scaled down version of EU membership and there would have been no need to placate grumbling Tory back benchers.

The Irish referendums were a simple majority but none of them were answers to questions as general as in/out.
The conservative party should never see power again for what they've done to the UK and you should feel that way no matter how you voted.

I'm now more convinced then ever that all these nutters that have popped up in the last few days are actually @Bruce Wayne multis in an elaborate scheme to defame leave voters! I demand an investigation mods! ;)

It is very peculiar, and it even seems to have affected poor Joey. Must be the hot weather or something.

"Endangering people's future", how do you know that, what if it makes us more prosperous, like when the BoE said we'd go into recession if we voted leave, and our stats continued to rise across the board.

Remainers kicking their toys out the pram is all I see in here.

We are leaving, it's happening, no food, no drugs, no diesel in your car for the next 5 years, just got to roll up your sleeves sunshine.
Okey dokie

That's irrelevant. Think of it like this. Person A (we can call him Farhad) is a gazillionaire. Person B (we can call him Bruce) is of more modest means. Farhad loses £100,000 today from investing in one of Bill's plays. He's sad, but £100,000 is a small proportion of his overall wealth, so he can ride with it. Bruce loses £100,000 today because instead of working he spends too much time talking to dullards online. He loses his house, his wife runs off with Ivan Lendl and his GOT mug is full of tears.

Poor Bruce.

No wonder he threatening to shoot right wing socialist pensioners after going through all that.
