So you have used a picture of the TV Home Guard to take the piss out of Brexit. Did it ever cross your mind that the 'real' Home Guard, during WW2 did more for this country than you could ever do. No, I don't suppose it ever did.
Watch it goes full on working Goodwin law definition.1. Impressive.

Shock horror. A Brexit supporting paper showing a pro Brexit article. Anybody would think the likes of the Guardian and Independent only printed pro remain stuff. The Daily Express? I mean I understand why you don't want to make it too clear that you're linking to them, but really? The Daily Express?![]()
And that gives you pleasure does it?
Sure it did, I'm actually a historical scholar with particular emphasis on Late Republican/Early Imperial Rome, Revolutionary/Napoleonic France and her wars, and both World Wars. I've studied the effect and impact of political upheaval on society for decades. I'm also a fan of classic British TV and like that show (although I prefer 'Allo 'Allo). The real Home Guard were brave men who had often already 'done their time' and yet volunteered to serve their country in its greatest need. I don't know why you're trying to make me feel bad in comparison to them, I'd happily accept they did more than I could ever do.
Of course, I'm not part of the Boomer generation that is now trying to claim some reflected glory off the previous one. Were you in the Home Guard? Did you serve in WW2 at all? Or is your post just the standard Brexiter tactic of taking umbrage and claiming outrage to try to shut people up?

Where in there is a solution? There's a line that reads "there is technology available". Which has been the claim by various Brexiters for ages, without ever going into specifics.
Impressively rubbish yourself sir. Touché1. Impressive.
2. Rubbish.
Its indicative of their position, they glibly churn centre common ground or whatever turn of phrase. However, they have no purpose apart from being as decisive as Farage be it on the other side of the glass house, but equally as damaging.Nah, the usual suspects will have their usual go at me! lol![]()
But you study History, not any Engineering subject so what would be the point. You wouldn’t understand it anyway. No matter what was said, any process described or the costs involved, you would merely use anything put forward as a starting point for derision......
My background is technology Pete (and specifically getting new technologies to scale), and you've refused to elaborate on the technological solution whenever I've asked you, so I wouldn't use our failure to understand it as a reason if I were you.
But you study History, not any Engineering subject so what would be the point. You wouldn’t understand it anyway.
You have no idea which hats I've worn in my career, and in fact I left school to go into Engineering (and my degree was a technological subject) so I would say my background is exactly what you're saying I wouldn't understand. I'll reserve the right to treat any nonsense with the derision it deserves.
But saying "there is technology" isn't the same as "this is the technological solution that will render the backstop void, and it works". I thought anyone could have spotted that, but it seems there are a few in this thread that need even the most basic concepts spelled out to them.
