The best decision Brown made was not to join the euro, which Blair desperately wanted. However, it wasn't a well thought out financial/economic decision, it was just because Blair wanted it and Brown didn't want him to have it.

He had to put that through the house of course which is no easy feat, but the point I'm making is that he was following what Brown had come up with therefore it is wrong to suggest that the USA led and we followed.
