The civil war over religious beliefs caused the troubles, the EU had nothing to do with that of the GF agreement.....
We are talking about trade not the bad old days ....
Newsflash Joey
The troubles were not caused by religious beliefs.
The were caused by the denial of civil rights to a section of society in the 6 counties
One man one vote
Jobs for all
Education and social housing for all

My point being that we would probably already have a decent deal if it wasn’t for this Remainer rearguard action dragging the whole thing out and undermining the U.K. position......

No.

There was a great deal in December 2017 when the NI only Backstop, which is supported by the vast majority of people in NI and which recognises the unique problems and position of that region, was agreed by the British government and the EU.

That way Great Britain would have have left the EU on March 29th, customs union and all.

The UK position was “undermined” by May caving in to the DUP temper tantrum.

Never forget that, Peter......it us not the EU which has you still tethered to it, it is the Tory desperation to cling to power which saw them sell their soul to ten bigots from the edge of empire.

The Tory Party and its ERG zealots has betrayed Brexit for England....no one else.

(and for that I might yet be eternally grateful )

The last thing Farage actually wants is the UK out any time soon, campaigning to Leave is his only real relevance. He wants a complete Tory failure to deliver Brexit so whatever loose coalition of racists and their chums he's cobbled together this time can supplant them on the Right of UK politics.

If he was serious about leaving he'd pull all BP candidates from Tory safe seats (especially those held by Brexiters) in the upcoming GE and try to carve off Labour voters in the north, but he's already said he'll stand candidates everywhere. His dream scenario is to split the Tory vote, install a Corbyn minority Govt. backed by Remain Alliance votes and watch as they squabble about the most democratically acceptable way to revoke A50; all this time he'd be sniping away trying to be the main 'Opposition' voice regardless of seat numbers.

My word, the centrist have themselves in a paranoid state in an alternative reality. Farage now wants Corbyn to be PM, is this the best that can be come up with. Take a lay down and no more analytical digesting of banal reports from the 'centre of how to keep things as they are'. They should be left well alone.
In other words poppycock...

Unfortunately apartheid is very likely reserved only for South African black people and cannot possibly have existed or exist anywhere else. How a average main land Brit will see northern Ireland troubles is just religious strive, no real understanding what that actually meant. Its something that either you are specialised or seek out yourself...

I have been in Ireland since 1960 and I don't remember that

There has always been free movement for people across the border, Bri.

Goods vehicles going between Dublin or Belfast used to have to pull into customs checks at Killeen on the northern side or near Dundalk on the southern side, depending on which way they were travelling.

It was only during the Troubles that armed British soldiers set up command posts on the border andstarted stopping vehicles and P checking the occupants.

But that was to do with security, not immigration control.

Farage now wants Corbyn to be PM,

No, Farage wants to be PM himself, and knows he would have a much easier time beating a short-lived Corbyn-led minority that he can pillory as going against 'the will of the people' than he would beating a resurgent 'just-delivered-Brexit' Johnson-led majority that coincidentally renders his entire platform obsolete.

It's a little thing called strategic planning.

How does that square with Priti Patel’s statement the other day that there will be bo freedom of movement after Halloween?

The way she tells there will be “border controls” at British ports of entry.

But the three hundred odd mile land border between the UK and the Republic of Ireland is just going to remain open as it is now?

Is that what you’re saying, Meth?

In which case anyone from an EU country, or indeed any country, can enter Great Britain by flying into Dublin then taking a bus from Dublin to Belfast and getting an Easyjet plane from Belfast International Airport to John Lennon where there is no passport control as it is an “internal flight”.

The simple fact of it is if the Patel woman is hellbent on pursuing this policy then by definition we will have to put men on the ground to check people crossing the birder.

Thousands of men as there are thousands of roads criss crossing that border, both approved and unapproved.

Which you as the son of Monaghan people should know a darn sight better than me.

Its not what I'm saying, its what the RI government has said and the UK government has said.

Indeed was going to mention strategies, however, the thought of taking copious amounts illegal substances to induce similar state of paranoid mind, so decided against such drastic action.

You've got my full backing Joey, all the best.

Shouldn't make a jot of difference as "they need us more than we need them."
....or had you forgotten?

Fair enough mate, sorry to be posting things so far above your comprehension that you need pharmaceutical aid to follow along. Not sure what your paranoias have do with anything either. Stay strong.
