Then they will hemorage votes.....

Being in the EU was well down on the electorate concerns in 2015, it was Camerons fat fingered attempt to head off increasing UKiP. The Referendum itself got caught up in the rising but not then fully understood implications of Austerity, however, also poor Governments not recognising the need to improve infrastructure. Hence the furbile response for a long time for another referendum by Brexiteers as they literally hid behind Austerity/poor Governance by recent governments and blamed the EU, a one time trick. Anyway, brief history blah.

Joey do you realise Brexit by any definition by the the likes of Rees Mogg/ Galloway or whatever bizzare political spectrum you purport to be, is gone! It's just a matter how soft and how much we are still members of the EU?

Two manefesto of the two biggest parties need to honour the referendum......or Its a betrayal ok......

There is only one manifesto that matters and that is the Conservative one as they were elected.

The PM tried to negotiate a deal, had numerous inevitable challenges and can't honour the referendum in terms of giving every Brexiteer the exact Brexit they want.

To end the turmoil i'd be in favour of something like these options on a referendum:

Leave with May's deal

OR

Revoke Article 50, with a referendum scheduled in about 3 years time. As part of that, the Government will create a Brexit group to investigate the best way to leave the EU that is actually doable, and doesn't put the country in turmoil. They come up with a workable Brexit Option - e.g a version of the Norway style one, and then that is put to the people in about 3 years time. With 2 options, remain, or the deal that the Brexit Group has agreed on that is actually workable.

obviously, but why do you think 'take back control' resonated so much?
because, much like MAGA, it was designed to.
Take a disenfranchised population, add catchy messages to show them that they have the power to change whats wrong, then when you have their attention, tell them what's wrong. hint, it's usually immigrants.

The opposition had honorary ties to carrying out the referendum so stop the bull.......

If a new Brexit party emerges in a GE if Brexit falters it will cause a big change - what did Cameron call UKIP....
And it cost him his job....
Both parties may get affected by the way.......

NEW - Downing St spox says the government will whip *against* the business motion for this afternoon’s indicative votes - If it wins, the whole thing will be off. “Obviously we oppose the principle,” a spox says.

Downing St also makes clear, as PM said, that they still hope to bring forward MV3 this week: “We are working very hard, the PM has had a number of mertings with colleagues, and we will be doing everything we can to bring it to a successful conclusion”.

So once shes whipped the Tories to block the HoC from indicating what it wants will she then once more complain that the House has failed to indicate what it wants?? This surely has now descended into pure insanity?

and if we want to stop losing elections to demagogues backed by oligarchs, it would probably be prudent to stop disenfranchising people quite so energetically

Why do you bother? You and others have pointed out that the opposition aren't bound to their manifesto, AND that May broke most of theirs in ten minutes.
It's pointless mate.
I sort of hope that he'll actually explain himself at some point rather than just talking in cliche.
I think it's important to understand what people actually mean when they say things, rather than just simply the words, but I often find, particularly with Brexit that if you probe even the slightest amount you get accused of being 'elitist', 'bullying' or told 'you lost'.

I like to give @Joey66 the benefit of articulating his opinion, but I find more often than not, he offers absolutely no evidence, cannot or will not understand any nuance or deviation, feigns offense or deflects when presented with challenge and relies entirely on others to make his arguments for him.

But I will persist nevertheless.
