If I’m honest I think there are other ways it could all pan out but In reality when faced by a no deal Brexit I’m probably leaning towards it and have been for a while . I think it’s awful and frankly how anyone thinks it’s better then where we currently are baffles me but it might be the only option . Tomorrow is a massive day , the latest in the list of massive days .
TBH ....... I don't know how of any of this will pan out.

I'm sure that most on here would be happier if we didn't leave the EU at all. That is arguably still the most likely option, albeit after a lengthy extension of article 50.. I think no deal is the least likely option and the deal on the table somewhere in between. I don't think these indicative votes will come up with anything else to replace the deal on the table, but you never know.

The problem with staying in the EU is that it won't do anything to resolve the fact that approximately half of the country don't want to be part of the EU. All you will be doing is delaying the problems until a later date. I can also see the country becoming quite toxic.

There seems to be a definite shift in public opinion regarding Brexit - whether that is a result of apathy towards it, a realisation of the complexity or changing demographic I don't know, probably a bit of all three.

Parliament seems tied between a form of Brexit that doesn't exist, May's deal that they all hate and remain.

Much of it seems to rest with May, she'll get her deal if she decides to quit, but she seems far too stubborn. Nobody seems to want no deal. So it's May's deal, extension and I think GE or Remain.

Joey. The withdrawal agreement is on the table. That isn't changing. We either sign it, leave with no deal or stay in the EU.
Then why an indicative votes on all types of Brexit as most MPs reckon the leave agreement/treaty is a stitch up even with the Irish backstop out of it as it stands?.......
May has included things in there that would clash surely with a common market 2.00 or a Norway plus deal or a Canada plus deal etc etc?

The EU aren't offering anything else at this stage. It's May's WA, no deal or Revoke A.50

Most of them are playing politics Joey and I dare say quite a few of them are playing a long game that will see us extend article 50 and hope that through either a second referendum or general election we end up staying in the EU,

You ain’t seen nothing like the DUP yet folks make no mistake about it, the DUP will be prepared to burn the UK just to be part of the ashes.

Making the DUP power brokers in this is the last think I can think off that would help the UK come to a sensible resolution with the least pain.
That was one of the first things that crossed my mind too when the Tories reached out to them after the GE. I didn't realise they would be quite so dogmatic though, if that's the right term to use.

The problem you have with NI politics is they have no interest in power, resources or self progression, thus you have little or no leverage in negotiation.

Their motivation is ideological and they would happily bring hardship on to every UK household and throw the country under a bus as long as they could suffer the same hardship.

The UK will rue getting into bed with them.

I see many critiquing Mogg for a supposed you turn, what he has actually done is very clever, he has grandstanded on a pro brexit platform, that has become his political identity, with either a GE or Leadership race in the mix very shortly, he’s now youturning to lobby for the moderate vote, all the while using the DUP as a shield knowing full well that they will fire the bullets for him on a hard line stance and hold the matches if a fire needs to be started. Clever politicking.

Again I don’t disagree with most of that mate but your bit about half the country. if you swap that for almost half the country at the time of the ref thinking the opposite and think if people including the government had taken that on board from day one maybe we’d all be in a better place .

Not to nitpick but neither side had around half the country. Leave had just over 25% and remain obviously a little bit below that.

Only reason I am nitpicking is that a big unknown will be how the huge amount of people who didn’t vote would react to another vote. Would they bother voting this time or not? Were they largely people that didn’t vote because they thought there was no point (on both sides) but will now get involved after 3 years of general carnage? Or do they simply not really care? Could be a mix of those reasons and probably more.

We’ve seen in recent years that polling isn’t great so if another referendum was offered, there would be so many unknowns.

I still think a second referendum would be the best option in terms of what we are faced with. It will almost certainly cause issues and more division but I’d rather the people got another go than the idiots “in charge”.

Sorry if none of that made sense, I’m a little drunk.

Then the Brexit party will emerge far stronger than UKIP ever was, if you are correct that's a big possibility both major parties will lose votes in time......

My own view is that the Govt should have got a cross party group together that would also include top civil servants, European law specialists and some top people from Industry and Finance, to come up with a detailed plan for Brexit, before we voted to invoke article 50.

I'm not sure how this would have helped the 48% who still wanted to remain in the EU. What do you think the Govt should have done.
