So politicians know what is best for the ignorant electorate/population?

The same argument that white colonists used to use when subjugating the natives.
I wouldn't use that terminology, but I suppose it falls to the question of if you think your MP is representative of the constituency or a delegate for them.

I expect my MP to exercise their judgement on issues and I take a broad veiw of their political belief. I don't expect them to canvas opinion in a direct democracy style.

Jon Trickett, but it's fairly obvious from the post-vote discussions that there's a massive cross-party consensus that they've had enough of May gaming the system and putting the nation in a perilous position.
It’s gone way past the point where she should’ve resigned. Surely she’ll get a tap on the shoulder soon to tell her the game is up?! It can’t go on like this.

It was a reckless decision done to control his own party over the good of the UK.

Pressured by Farage and his own Eurosceptic backbenchers who saw disallusionment in the population and spent millions to persuade them to vote leave.

I think we can all agree that the odds were more in favour to remain when it went to a vote (exit polls, general business leader statements etc) hence why it didn't go through the high court initially...and no one generated a plan if the vote was to leave.

Cameron knew this so jumped ship when he lost.

Lesson here is that parties can't just throw things in manifestos without being able to follow it through.

There were a lot of powerful Tory speeches against her position last night, but the central theme is that she circumvents parliament to force through her own personal choice, like today, for instance.

No one is pressuring her to go though really. Corbyn pushed the vote of no confidence in December (as usual, late and half arsed). She won that.

Other than that, no one is really or forcefully getting her out. Reason being is that I don't think anyone wants to take over her job at this moment.

Once this fiasco is over...there will be a queue of people sticking the knife in

At the moment, the Remainers in the cabinet have given up all pretence of collective responsibility. Like Boris and co, they should have resigned. The Leavers will now back May when she brings the deal back for a third time. We will leave on 29th March. If May then sacks her treacherous Remainers she might just cling onto the job. If she lets them get away with it then she has no power and will face an immediate leadership challenge.

She will be able to declare that she has delivered Brexit and now it’s time for someone else to run the next lap.....

He was so confident in his ability that he made the referendum so binary fully expecting to win. So arrogant way he that he never expected to lose because he assumed that the public would continue to swallow whatever he was offering.

Knowing what he did about the referendum, he completely gambled the countries future to being his party under control.

I have absolutely no sympathy for the man..

So that the leavers can get someone in power to oversee a deal they didn't want?

Hardly.

Oh absolutely. Me neither.

But I don't think he has to answer for it.

Was never a fan of his, but as a leader of a party he puts all of the current crop under the table as he could at least dictate what he wanted to do.
