Of course it counts for something. The government has spent 2 1/2 years trying to get a decent deal but no one likes it. At this point people should realise that this has been a big mistake. But so many are driven by a desire to be right and don’t want to feel that they’ve been conned into voting against their own interests.

It’s like deciding to drive down a road and persisting because of pride even when it’s clear that it’s heading over the edge of a cliff.
They've done nothing but witter on for two and a half years. That counts for nothing. The leave result counted for nothing, it's not been followed up on at all.

It'd be like Labour winning an election, May refusing to leave Dowing Street and the Tories still running the government while saying they were negotiating a transition. The Tory voters screaming that they deserve respect and want a "people vote". In other words nothing changes and every single day the possibility of change goes further and further away until everyone has is either forgotten or stopped caring about it and just accept things the way they are.

Oh you can't be serious? You think that respecting the majority and upholding the vote is the same as treating the minority as worthless?

When a vote of any kind takes place it's generally accepted that the will of the side that wins has to take priority and count just a little bit more then the side that lost. I'm sorry but that's how these things work. Your vote counted but it wasn't enough as you were outnumbered. Had remain won and leavers been making the same argument as you I'd say the same.

As for the treat of violence being bigged up by the "Brexit lobby" I'd like to know why you care what they have to say? I don't. A couple of no-mark politicians and activists won't convince me with their childish fear mongering.
Brexit was born out of childish fear mongering. 30 years worth of headlines based on lies about the EU, politicians blaming the EU instead of taking responsibility for their own mistakes and ‘foreigners’ being blamed for all kinds when our own government was actually to blame.

Without the childish fear mongering we wouldn’t be having this problem.

That’s what you’re not getting. They have negotiated the best deal they could have done. It’s terrible but that’s not because they haven’t tried. It’s because any deal we get will always be worse than being in the EU.

People got sold a unicorn and then got disappointed when a 3 legged donkey with a dildo strapped to it’s head turned up. I can understand why, but be annoyed with the muppet that sold you the unicorn not the postman that brings you the donkey.

But that's you're opinion. Not a fact. I know people who voted out for a whole variety of reasons and the vast, overwhelming majority of them were perfectly valid even if I didn't agree with them.

You talk about childish fear mongering being the reason we're having this problem as though we are they only country that are having doubts about the EU. There are plenty of valid reasons to have issues with the EU and putting them all down to fear mongering is as childish in itself.

Has it gone through? Have we left? Has anything changed at all since the vote?

Sure, big speeches have been made by all sides but nothing real has actually happened other then the media having one long endless supply of often made up 'what if' stories.

Nothing whatsoever has changed since June 23rd 2016. We're still in the EU and less likely to leave then ever.

Not we actually leave the referendum was ignored. I could live with that because referendums aren't legally binding, I just can't stomach this pretence that they've ever really done anything.

But it's not a vote on the same question now. It's not asking if you want to do something, it's asking how - and at the same time checking to see if minds have been changed.

Brexit thus far has been an invitation to treat - you expressed an interest in it but you haven't yet bought it. Just like in any shop, if you pick an item up to look at it, you have every right to put it back if you decide it's not to your tastes - picking up the item doesn't finalise the contract.

If there is a second referendum it’s going to be fun watching the debate on what the questions will be on the ballot paper, whether the questions are decided upon by an impartial panel or not.

What valid reasons? I’m yet to hear any that make this mess worthwhile. The ones i’ve heard are all based on fear mongering.
