Genuine question now you’ve got the pub have you spoke to your wine merchant about the financial implications of a Brexit ? Either a negotiated one or no deal , be interested to know if you’re getting different figures than everyone else because at the minute the impact is potentially pretty big and a lot of the merchants have absorbed most the increases so far .

I have. And amazingly we can buy wine from all over the world, cheaper than France. I have a list of merchants offering lower prices......

I'm not talking about being right or wrong. That isn't the debate, it's whether people were deliberately lying. Whenever the leave campaign are accused of that, the standard retort is that 'both sides did it'. That's not true, and there's a huge difference between saying with the best thinking available to you, but then being wrong, and saying something you know full well is wrong.

It is true Bruce, and your denying it merely emphasises the point......let’s at least be honest......

What the amendment means in reality is that, if Mays deal is rejected by parliament and May decides to push ahead with the no deal option the Govt will not be able to introduce new tax legislation without each bill being passed by parliament.

It doesn’t stop a no deal Brexit but it makes it a non viable solution.

Therefore May has to now either get parliament to accept the current deal(which won’t happen) or come up with another solution other than a no deal.

The only other options are

1. Extend article 50 and try and negotiate with EU for a better deal

2. Extend article 50 and implement a new referendum

3. Extend article 50 and Call a general election

4. Push ahead with a no deal Brexit and lead our country to financial ruin

Why do you believe that a no deal leads to financial ruin.....

haven't paid much attention the last few weeks to brexit, but if we have no deal, they say the government cant put up taxes to deal with it without going to parliament to get them through.
but surely we will have already left with with no deal for this to kick in?
so they would be voting to not control the situation we could find ourselves in.
If the EU and May are to be believed and its this deal or no deal, the very same people are effectively by voting the governments deal down are going to cause a no deal surely that's a bit of a conundrum .
the leave date is set in law and has been passed, hasn't it?
i am more than likely missing something , so please forgive me if it sounds daft.
by the way i am not championing no deal or Mays deal just interested.

It's basically ask the people then stick two fingers up to them as they know best.........
We all want a good deal, but it's a dogs mess - don't they know how to work together?.........
