haven't paid much attention the last few weeks to brexit, but if we have no deal, they say the government cant put up taxes to deal with it without going to parliament to get them through.
but surely we will have already left with with no deal for this to kick in?
so they would be voting to not control the situation we could find ourselves in.
If the EU and May are to be believed and its this deal or no deal, the very same people are effectively by voting the governments deal down are going to cause a no deal surely that's a bit of a conundrum .
the leave date is set in law and has been passed, hasn't it?
i am more than likely missing something , so please forgive me if it sounds daft.
by the way i am not championing no deal or Mays deal just interested.

Mate I’m a remainer whose Never asked for a second referendum, you lads who voted leave I get that and if we can put a deal together then fine. No deal terrified me , the ramifications seemed ridiculous, just far too big for any serious consideration. Anyone whose looked at what that put forward and thought it was acceptable i honestly think is deluded, now it seems it may have been shifted back as an option I’m ok .

I don’t want Brexit but will of the people and all that , I can deal with it .however I honestly felt no deal was potentially catastrophic, if it’s not an option then clearly in my opinion we’ve improved our position. All that said I need to look at what’s actually been before the House of Commons before I can have a serious opinion on it .

Why?

What the amendment means in reality is that, if Mays deal is rejected by parliament and May decides to push ahead with the no deal option the Govt will not be able to introduce new tax legislation without each bill being passed by parliament.

It doesn’t stop a no deal Brexit but it makes it a non viable solution.

Therefore May has to now either get parliament to accept the current deal(which won’t happen) or come up with another solution other than a no deal.

The only other options are

1. Extend article 50 and try and negotiate with EU for a better deal

2. Extend article 50 and implement a new referendum

3. Extend article 50 and Call a general election

4. Push ahead with a no deal Brexit and lead our country to financial ruin

or....

5. Call time on this madness and just bin Brexit.

:)

i have stopped taking a great deal of interest to be honest, May s deal is rubbish, no deal nobody wants but we seem to be getting seriously close to, and a large rump of parliament who don't want any deal but staying in despite the vote and parliament themselves passing a law we are leaving in march.
Then all of a sudden mp's decide to work together at the eleventh hour not to get a deal for the country , which they should have been doing the last few years, but to hamper what's on the table according to the EU and the goverment, more to do with party politics than the deal for half of them
I hadn't a clue how it will end up, still feel myself we will end up staying in the EU in everything but name .
Parliament has show the current crop are not fit for the job, have scant regard for the people who voted them in, from both sides of the argument .
Sadly there is going to be a lot of resentment in the country which ever way it plays out.
I am not against a second vote, we should never be scared to ask the population in my eyes, but what would it solve if it went to remain it will not end the problems that brought the original result, do we just ignore them , if so it will just resurface again in the future anyway.
If it was to leave again it's back to square one and around we go again.
in an ideal situation a general election might solve it , but both main parties are split on the issue so who do you vote for?
can't see a clear path so , just resigned myself to sit back and see what unfolds and not waste time and energy worrying about stuff I can't have any affect on in reality.

This is a key point, the whole thing should be paused until we actually have the ability to be able to leave the EU - On resolution of the Irish issue. So the basis remains the same we are still looking to leave but when it is possible, if it takes 10 years plus maybe there is grounds for a new referendum at that point. This way the leavers can't say they have been betrayed as it isn't a U turn, it is just ownership from the government that they have tried and failed to negotiate a reasonable way out at this time.

If it was to leave again it's back to square one and around we go again.

In this case if people vote to leave specifically with no deal (May's deal should be put in the bin imho) then the people deserve to get the result they vote for. It will lead to the break up of the UK for starters.

It will be the party of leave at any cost v the party that wants to leave using magic and fairy dust. They both equal the same thing, there is no choice, like you say.

They should come to your pub for a celebration of common sense.

Lost, sore loser, can't get over it, wants to take back control and then give it all to a useless autocratic ruler he doesn't even respect, just a moaner?

No idea mate, but leave have had a hell of a lot of time to get a convincing strategy together and all they can do at this late juncture is threaten the public with an ill prepared Brexit in order to get support for a useless deal. They've once again brought this on themselves.

you will be alright pete , hops are harvested by a good old British invented BlackBerry picker these days, might be an idea to get all those Londoners off there arse and into the countryside again, do them the world of good.

If only we knew someone with the best horticultural skills in the universe who is currently sitting idly by waiting to come to the country's rescue?
