Just noticed this about BMD from the report on today's Everton GM:

Deputy chairman Keith Harris said: "We have the unknowns presented by Brexit, we have inflation, we have the effect of the exchange rate in this country as most of the materials will be imported. "

So the drop in the value of sterling caused by Brexit is escalating the costs of Everton's new stadium.

It's about time some on here put their club before country..

And there we have it. The UK HOC have voted to not allow the UK to leave without a deal. Ergo, No Deal is history.

Not quite yet tbf

What should, in normal times, be a resignation matter for the PM and Chancellor (first PM to lose a Finance Bill vote in 40 years) is now just "another" defeat.

She's the Martinez of Prime Ministers

Not how I read it on the BBC News site:
"...They backed an amendment to the Finance Bill, which would limit spending on no-deal preparations unless authorised by Parliament, by 303 to 296 votes..."

Maybe you've read something else...

What the amendment means in reality is that, if Mays deal is rejected by parliament and May decides to push ahead with the no deal option the Govt will not be able to introduce new tax legislation without each bill being passed by parliament.

It doesn’t stop a no deal Brexit but it makes it a non viable solution.

Therefore May has to now either get parliament to accept the current deal(which won’t happen) or come up with another solution other than a no deal.

The only other options are

1. Extend article 50 and try and negotiate with EU for a better deal

2. Extend article 50 and implement a new referendum

3. Extend article 50 and Call a general election

4. Push ahead with a no deal Brexit and lead our country to financial ruin
