Let me explain this in very simple terms....
The U.K. should pay into the EU about £17Bn......but because we don’t get all the goodies of CAP etc we get a rebate of about £4Bn......the rebate isn’t actual money it’s just discounted from our contribution bill.
So the U.K. then actually pays the EU £13Bn in real money
Then the EU spends about £5Bn into the U.K.
Therefore the U.K. actually pays £8Bn Net to the EU........
