I also give three big explanations in my reply- Food prices rocketed once we left the commonwealth - joining the common market - Purchase tax was at 3-9% depending on what luxury goods you purchased replaced by VAT that increased just to pay the EU budget { Common market in those early days}Yes because unless you witnessed it then - you can not have a clear view of before and after we joined - I voted YES and was so disappointed - their were many people where I lived that felt the same!
