"Following Letta's resignation, Renzi formally received the task of forming a new government from President Napolitano on 17 February. Renzi held several days of talks with party leaders, all of which he broadcast live on the internet, before unveiling his Cabinet on 21 February, which contained members of his Democratic Party, the New Centre-Right, the Union of the Centre and the Civic Choice. His Cabinet became Italy's youngest government to date, with an average age of 47. It was also the first in which the number of female ministers was equal to the number of male ministers, excluding the Prime Minister.

The following day Renzi was formally sworn in as Prime Minister, becoming the fourth Prime Minister in four years and the youngest Prime Minister in the history of Italy. His rise to become Prime Minister was widely seen as a sign of much-needed generational change, and at the time he took office he enjoyed by far the highest approval rating of any politician in the country. On 25 February Renzi won a vote of confidence in the Italian Parliament, with 169 votes in the Senate and 378 in the Chamber of Deputies."
You forgot to add he was placed in by the EU not the people!

You gave an answer of a typical Remain post you always post stop wriggling around you would love to overturn the democratic vote of the people end of!
Not just you as all the Remainers on here !

Where have I said that the Govt should overturn the referendum Joey? You have a habit of putting words in peoples mouths and then creating strawman arguments.

He was so pro European that's why the first chance and he is ousted because the idiot stated vote against my reforms ( bonding them closer to the EU) and Bingo he loses - such a popular organisation it is definately not!

What did the proposed Italian constitutional reforms have to do with the EU?

They voted against it like DC he's bit the bullet wait till they try and ditch the Euro!

They'd be barking to ditch the Euro at this point given their precarious position.

Anyway, I get that he fell on his own sword akin to Cameron, but don't see what the referendum had to do with the EU?

You are an avid remainer come on don't deny it?:D

I voted Remain and was / am passionate about why I feel that way and why - correct.

Do I think the pledge to leave following the referendum should be overturned? No.

What I want to see is that our exit is managed in a way that sees the least possible economic damage, and our Parliament needs to ensure that's what happens.
