We have had that democracy so now we have it Remainers do not accept democracy!
The point being (although I doubt you would recognise a point if it came up and stabbed you in a ticklish bit) that 'democracy' before the Referendum had decided that Britain was in the EU. So you - who presumably wanted us to leave - were not accepting democracy then.

Saying that people are refusing to accept democracy is just as moronic as well, let's leave it there. If everyone accepted 'democracy' there would be no changes of government, policies or practices.

I don't recognise an advisory referendum that is hugely damaging to the country's economic prospects and global standing particularly as the outcome was determined by falsehoods.

Ok, but I consider falsehoods were equally said on both sides (and what election doesn't have them?).

I respect your opinion is that it will damage the economy and that Parliament should be involved in the matter (even if I don't agree with either of those points) but to not believe the democratic vote to leave should be ratified at all is something that goes far beyond what is reasonable (in my opinion)

I accept entirely I am taking (for me) an unusually extreme position but I do feel the consequences of leaving the EU are so severe it warrants the position.

Rubbish way to describe democracy if this happened ever GE no government would ever gain power this is the elitist in this country who need the EU for self interest!

I absolutely respect the absolute right of the "true believer" Remainers to agitate, organise and put forward their position in election after election and, at some point, to force the issue of a second referendum.

However, unless they are secretly advocates of oligarchy, they must accept the process which a democratic vote has begun.

Not much wrong with being an oligarchist - just be a bit more open about it.

Oh, and @JonS - I agree that there was exaggeration and mendacious goonery on both sides.

Does it not prove that only big business the stinking rich like EU laws hence their fight to defy democracy?
The sooner this organisation crashes and burns like Rome did the better a more freer Europe for trade without Polictical union?

What shocks me (if I understand it correctly) is that the EU has tarrif free trade between its countries but prohibits its countries from making tarriff free trade agreements with countries outside the EU?

What is this? Rather than Little Englandism it sounds like little Europeanism to me. Rather than a British Empire let's have the EU ruling the rest of the world. EU EU Uber Alles.

Truly shocking IMO.

The problem with this is it would just further add to feelings of mistrust and alienation towards a so called 'political class'. Farage and UKIP would have a field day. As much as it doesn't seem to make any financial sense and was largely fueled by a misplaced xenophobia (IMO OK!) we just have to accept the result as the social ramifications from doing otherwise are too huge to ignore.
