I'm not sure how much we can read EU-wise into the Italy referendum. If passed it would have effectively killed the Upper House, and given the central government far more power over regional government - for Americans, almost like killing the Senate and State Governors in a single blow. These are sweeping changes and bound to be controversial in any political context, not least in a country where the consequences of facism are still just about in living memory. The political class would have regretted it forever if Beppe Grillo actually ever won. It looks like their first move now will be the change the electoral law to stop it from happening. I guess the question now is "what happens to the banks?"
urm he was put there by the EU not even democratically voted in by the italian people, typical EU sticking their polictical noses where they want - the soone we are free from them politically the better!

"Following Letta's resignation, Renzi formally received the task of forming a new government from President Napolitano on 17 February. Renzi held several days of talks with party leaders, all of which he broadcast live on the internet, before unveiling his Cabinet on 21 February, which contained members of his Democratic Party, the New Centre-Right, the Union of the Centre and the Civic Choice. His Cabinet became Italy's youngest government to date, with an average age of 47. It was also the first in which the number of female ministers was equal to the number of male ministers, excluding the Prime Minister.

The following day Renzi was formally sworn in as Prime Minister, becoming the fourth Prime Minister in four years and the youngest Prime Minister in the history of Italy. His rise to become Prime Minister was widely seen as a sign of much-needed generational change, and at the time he took office he enjoyed by far the highest approval rating of any politician in the country. On 25 February Renzi won a vote of confidence in the Italian Parliament, with 169 votes in the Senate and 378 in the Chamber of Deputies."

Dont trust judges ESK in real life they spout one thing and come down with another decision, I think the may government should have swerved this and just done a one line bill on article 50 and gone for it myself!

If that's the tack that's taken, I hope our elected representatives treat it with the contempt it deserves and kick it back at them

I do wonder what would happen if May came out and said 'the best deal we could come up with was not good enough for the UK, so we're not going to leave'.

Do the rest of the EU have powers to forcibly remove us from the union?

If we cannot trust the Supreme Court who can we trust?
I trust no judges Esk had experience of it his reputation went before him and he was a rogue judge, a reserve high court judge - my barrister quote there is no such thing as justice it's on the day on how which side performs!
I won in a way that was grueling as souls searching and traumatising!
so basically no such thing as justice its how clever your barrister is just glorified overpaid actors quoting law!

If all 27 agree to allow us to revoke our decision to action article 50, then yes it could be over turned.

But we haven't actioned article 50 yet, so I don't see what they have to revoke.
You asked if we could change our minds in the deal wasn't considered to be good enough.

I gave you the answer, as we'd have to action article 50 to get to the point where we have a deal to discuss.

Again a remainer tying with hope to overcome the vote of th e people which was 17.5 million voting out!
Get real Labour will back article 50 they can amend it al they want as can the House of Lords who have been told misbehave and you will be shut down - all of this and 27 countries in the EU will determine how we leave this us laughable socialist backing millionaires bankers taking the government to the high court on a point of law when it's the EU who will decide what Brexit we have the parties should be supporting the vote as the EU is failing and is hit hard by the Italy vote the third biggest contributer their banks are bust
Another Greece on the horizon, and people advocate staying in this failing organisation of an inept Polictical union!

No one unless you have been in a court case believe me justice is a fickle thing often it's the barrister on their day who convince old privalaged of the bar which way to go how many cases to you hear of mis justice?
Many as nothing's perfect , and the dudicery is not exempt what ever what this case is decided it should have been avoided a GE may happen IMO as May can force a vote of no confidence on article 50!
The Lords may also eventually get reformed IMO not a day to late!

Seriously pal, you should try actually reading what people post, and then replying to that post, as opposed to going off on some meaningless irrelevant rant that mentions for the umpteenth time 17.5m people

He asked a question i.e. could May change her mind on the decision if the deal was deemed not acceptable, and I gave him the answer -the end.
