Elstone/new stadium

Perfect site. The waste ground surrounding McBurneys , just off the dock road, just south of the County Road junction.

I am not one to speculate, but I know that McBurneys may be moving soon, and we may have bid for the whole of the plot, and the surrounding dead space.

Anyways.

Maybe I am just speculating. ;P

Elstone said it's not a question of site. There are plenty of sites (to paraphrase).

It's a question of financing.

So Everton are looking at a "private investor" to help them with the stadium development.

The more I've looked at that Siamese stadium, the more holes you can pull apart with it.

it's exclusively about the RS. For one the 10000 higher capacity is very arbitrary and it fundamentally undermines the point that Everton have a growing "brand" and Liverpool's is in decline... (shown by the 457m debt and an aging team and instability).

We want fit for purpose for us.

They do have more fans than us though Matt, I hate to say it man but it be true.

Yes but the point was made yesterday. See how many Centenary Stand tickets they sell when Torres and GBH are sold to pay the debt.

Equally we have a huge fanbase and one that wouldn't desert us like I forsee theirs abandoning them.

Ive a feeling this is the only worthwhile post in this entire thread.

When Gaz speaks, you listen.

I was not commenting on Elstone's words.

I was just mentioning that a prime location is about to become available, due to McBurneys about to relocate.

I assume you know where the McBurneys site is?

Mr Damon. You really do lose yourself on tangents sometimes.

tut tut

Really mate, how big is the McBurneys site there is a rail link close by as well if im not mistaken.

The McBurneys site has the same footprint (ish) as the old lady.

It also has the same acreage(and then some) in waste ground surrounding.

just a hunch.

Im excited now mate, im sure its a better foot print if we're considering it, Goodisons footprint isnt bad its just that its awkward and landlocked!

Excellent news!

I reckon we get could get 60.000 - season ticket slaes up, reduce prices, family enclosure get the people in the ground.

The RS, United and other important games, 60k wouldnt be a problem, but I would say 90% of games there would be spaces, our average attendances back up that thoery, awaits the crys of restricted seating.

Aye, plus the fact that after a few years there would have be an operation to split them up, I'd wager the bigger, stronger one survives.

It's a ploy to end us. Defo RS behind this.
