Elstone/new stadium

Don't be reading any of that David O'Keefe's writing he's a prize ****.

All Elstone said is that theres a financing squeeze on (shock horror - we know this post 2008)... and that they're looking for a private investor to help with the stadium development.

So when we've seen stupid articles on Moanyweb - about lack of news - he was pretty frank on the number of meetings he'd had etc.

And stated what the club are doing financially to get the stadium issue running again.

I didn't here any comments about Goodison Park, so no doubt the commissioned architects not reported back yet..............

Patience.

The CEO said on City FM this morning he and the council had identified four sites within the city that it'd be possible to relocate to (unidentified as yet). So it looks like they're washing their hands of Goodison. He also said, though, that they're looking to the private sector to come in and match the "40% funding that Tesco offered at Kirkby" to make a move work. So, it's looking like the retail enabling solution is dominant in the thoughts of the board and that it'll be through that route - rather than a mixed use private/public sector football quarter type approach - that progress will be sought.

It's little wonder they're heading in that direction given Green's continued influence. Recent articles on this dimension and the shadow he casts over the future of the club here:

No doubt a full statement will come from Elstone on his research group's findings, but the philosophy guiding it seems clear enough: move from GP with the aid of enabling cash from another Tesco-type deal.

Dave you continue to surpass yourself. First you want Everton to remain within the boundary. By default this is what is happneing, now the argument is that they should only seek to re-develop Goodison Park. And now you want Everton to either pay for a stadia on their own, even though you know we don't have £250m or go for the fantasy island "football quarter".

Davek Lad, where is that avatar of you hitting your head on the ground? It should have come with a health warning.

How did you come to those conclusions from what I posted?

Immediately I have a major problem with it.

Everton's capacity would be less than theirs (50000 Everton) to their (60000 RS) and would not allow us to rapidly expand it or further develop it.

It fixes us into effectively supporting THEM in their stadium redevelopment with THEIR 472million debts.

Don't be conned into falling for it. And I'm glad Everton aren't either.
