And as for team motivation to create a good product - telling them you’re fired in a week if you don’t make deadline isn’t it.

The thing about social media, good and bad, is the group confirms the individual. There is no need for this sort of regulator on Twitter, and this is the sort of authoritarianism that Elon says he despises but it belies his true desires.

An incredibly dumb idea. Most wont pay this and then accounts pretending to be journalists/NGO's/human rights activists will spring up and have potentially harmful effects.

Twitter will be insolvent in 18 months is my best guess. He didnt have the money to buy it, massively overpaid for it and is doing his best to kill its only revenue stream from advertising.

When they remove the subsidies he gets for making batteries and cars that go on fire all the time he'll be in trouble.
