Agreed.
Amongst the rubble of discontent, i am always eager to see the views of a few in particular. You being one of them Christopher.
Mangala on loan: thoughts?

Massive cart horse, his distribution is appalling which again causes concern because we don’t really pass out the back now.

He is a beast physically, but the thought of him and cuco on the left side of our defence is terrifying.

It just stinks of allardyce though. Did the same with Sakho last year at palace.

There seems a massive lack of foresight which is worrying, they just seem to be throwing money around and chopping and changing in the hope something works

That's more like it. Some sense amongst the boring negative Everton 'supporters' who have currently got the team they deserve because of their non stop moaning and whining. COYB !!!!!

The point for this, which is relevant is would we take Laporte or Stones in 2 years if they flopped? Of course we would.

Players don't work out at teams, look at Sandro/Klaassen by no means bad players but just not suited.

The fact this is a loan deal first makes a lot of sense. Far more sense than whacking 25 million on Keane (or the money on Klaassen). We cannot think we are above taking outcasts and doing loan deals to see how they fit. I have no issue with the signing, if he's not right we won't buy him, if he can find his Porto form we will have an absolute bargain.

The issue is we are pursuing another centre back and not a left back. They are seperate debates though and that shouldn't take away from Mangala.

gets himself in a right mangle at times
I think that may partly be because at City every ball just about is played out from the back, a more orthodox and straight forward game plan hopefully will suit him better.
Sam does appear to have the ability to get the best out of players.... we can only hope this will be the case.

The same Sakho who was a success at Palace? And Mangala's distribution is a concern when we play hoofball?

The same Sakho who is still a massive issue and that’s why he’s at a team like palace because the ethos is to hoof it clear

Basically, what you’re saying is that our ambition should be palace. Buy players who aren’t good enough for the top teams and employ a manager to keep the happy ship Everton on course for mediocrity

Yaaaaay

Bizarre signing if it happens considering our other more pressing needs only positive is he has pace and physicality that we lack

Decent defender and only 26, good signing. Don’t right him off just yet as he’s being played as a ball playing centre half at city and he isn’t one, play him as a proper no nonsense centre half an he will Be quality.

holgate / keane / mangala as a back three would be very decent

Literally all our CB made mistakes in turn and they lacked height and physical presence (in general both Jags and Williams are short for CB) this season so a new CB is a pressing need too along with a lb.

Don't think that's relevant tbh. 3/4 years old when he was new to the league, and talking about how he is left exposed by his team mates. Hopefully neither will be the same here.

This is the sort of signing that Everton do well at. Young player has a big move, it doesn’t work out and we take them on and get the best from them. Arteta and Pienaar are two that spring to mind.

I feel those days are over I'm afraid :(
