I'm fine with this; he's pretty good IMO.
If it’s a loan great can’t be much worse than some of the cowards who’ve been playing centre half this season.

The only judgement you can make is from his performances in the premier league/la liga for the past three seasons, which have been poor to put it politically. Yes he plays for city but so did Rodwell.
It's only fair to give him a chance if he comes in and support him but at the same time it's impossible to ignore why were signing players who have weaknesses highlighted by our own manager and solely from England. It's as if we're not paying a DoF exorbitant amounts of money to look further afield and earlier in the window so were not having to take these gambles last minute

...he’s huge, he’s rapid, he’s young, he’s left sided and he cost £42m. We need athleticism and he’ll certainly provide that. The other factor is he hasn’t been very good but sometimes a change is what somebody needs.

He's left sided and strong. Decent aerially, but extremely suspect one on one. Pep almost had a seizure on the touchline watching him in the city game before Christmas. He makes way too many unforced errors.

This is the sort of signing that Everton do well at. Young player has a big move, it doesn’t work out and we take them on and get the best from them. Arteta and Pienaar are two that spring to mind.

Probably to play the pair together, as the rest bar Holgate have been truly awful and Holgate will need a rest at some point.
