Edinson Cavani

Actually, the late Transfer Deadline day approach is true, and did not originate publicly from the Esk.
Nobody will find anything from the Esk in the public domain on deadline day about Cavani.

The Cavani interest only became public about three or four days later and the Esk merely confirmed via Twitter what he'd been advised of late on TD evening, and duly got a torrent abuse.

My understanding is that Everton would like to pursue their interest in Cavani and that the finances are there to make it happen if... if they get any encouragement from either the player or PSG.
We may as well make public interest in Kane and aguero too.

There's no point. Will never happen. It's our boards idea of keeping us happy after such a let down

No offence mate, but Cavani currently earns 120k pw after tax on his current contract at PSG, assuming for a second he'd want roughly a 25% increase to move to a much lower down club - and to offset an obvious reduction in such things as goal bonus, bonuses for winning things and other such things he'd have in his contract at PSG, that would bring the salary we'd have to offer him (assuming a modest increase to 150k pw after tax) of around 290k pw we would have to offer the player.

You truly think the finances are there to make that happen if the player give us the green light, i for one think there's not a chance in hell we have remotely the ability to offer anything near those figures.

Unless you mean that the finances are in place should the player give us the encouragement that he is willing to take a large pay cut to move to Everton.

@The Esk is very very keen on challenging all things financial at the club, yet he very rarely / never at all challenges the spending power of the club over such matters, which all evidence suggests something such as this is laughably out of our ability and spending power

I have made an enquiry about having Jennifer Lawrence as my bit on the side, should she give me any encouragement on the enquiry - which demands she's happy with paying for everything on top of casting me in all her future movies and is ok with an occasional romp every other Sunday, then i will move forward with the deal.

Edison you say ?
Has anyone done the

pun yet ?

Happy birthday mate

Much as I like Esk, I do wonder if sometimes if he should just say nothing. Things like this can't really be fully confirmed or fully denied, I'd just let people think whatever they liked .. and make puns, or eat cheese, or even post cat gifs.

Main problem with what he says mate, is that he never ever challenges these enquiries or bids as being effectively fake, because let's face it we aren't going after players who we'd have to pay close to 300k pw are we?

If it was a sponsorship deal though he would be picking the bones apart of it, but doing it to our spending ability would be directly challenging Moshiri and his financial backing/ambition

I know it's most unlikely we will sign Cavani,

But just think if he wants to come to the Premier League which other club would he go to and be first choice striker?

Arsenal - Lacazette

Spurs - Kane

Man Utd - Lukaku

Man City - Aguero

Chelsea - Morata

Liverpool - Firminio

He may go to Spain or Italy. But if he decides he wants to try England where else would he go, if we really do have the money then we should at least try for him. It's about time we showed ambition and go for these types of players wether we get them or not.

Totally agree mate, if we'd had the sort of money being mentioned to splash around at the end of the window, then it's very hard to square that with not finding a half decent striker and left sided defender who were actually willing to sign.

It ain't rocket science, not that there's anything wrong with doing some ballistic sums.

1) don't believe esk in regards to transfers, he's always wrong

2) have we seriously got a thread on cavani. Does anyone think there's a slightest chance he'd even consider us. Because he won't

Why is there even a thread for this? It's like the Mourinho talk ... that surprise surprise came from a certain someone as well.

Hmmmm.

Yup, clubs that can offer those 70m fees and 300k pw wages don't honestly get jibbed off by the likes of Lucas Perez etc or even Giroud tbf
