ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

The best thing is last season he said something like Spurs spent £100m and any team that spends that sort of money needs to challenge for the league, now the winds changed direction I wonder what his thoughts are on that?

A journalist with real backbone would put that to him, maybe someone like Pearce?

This is the kind of thing we'll hopefully see more of if they continue to struggle and people start to question just how much of an influence he was on last year's efforts.

Their season will be decided on just how many draws he turns into wins, yeah. His fitness will be a huge factor here. It seems he misses a good 8 weeks a season at least. Probably more, this.

There was a stat the other week showing he's missed 8 months out of the last 20 with a range of joint injuries. Being available for 60% of games is not really good enough.

There's a reason the big clubs fked him off and he ended up at the rs.

Interesting, too, because if you look around at the top, no team has anyone with even close to Suarez's influence. Shows that they may have just been so dependent on him that it papered over the rest of the team: http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Premier_League_Combined_2013-14.html

Seems those top top players are just irreplaceable. I wouldn't be surprised to see teams trade one superstar for another instead of this 1 out, 7 in strategy that didn't work out well for LPool and Tottenham. Think Suarez for Di Maria instead of what they did. They'd probably be in better shape, and still could have bought Lovren, Lambert, Balotelli, too.

I know how you love numbers, Dougie. I put that in there just for you.

He only needed to buy a few decent defenders! instead.... he bought 4 forwards, 5 defenders a goalie and 4 defenders oh, and Lallana

Italian forward Mario Balotelli from Milan for a fee of 20m;
Spanish defender Alberto Moreno from Sevilla for a fee of 18m;
Spanish defender Javier Manquillo on loan from Atletico Madrid;
Croatian defender Dejan Lovren from Southampton for a fee of 25m;
Serbian forward Lazar Markovic from Benfica Lisbon for a fee of 25m;
Defender Kevin Stewart on a free transfer from Tottenham Hotspur;
Chilean goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux on a free transfer from Tottenham Hotspur;
Midfielder Adam Lallana from Southampton for a fee of 31m;
German midfielder Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of 12m; Forward
Rickie Lambert from Southampton for a fee of 5m.

Did no one have the bravado to tell him that most of the above might need a season or two to adjust to the pace and demands of a 38 game PL season plus all those cup ties and travels to Bulgaria (and further in the Europa if they scrape 3rd in the CL groups)?

2014-15 compared to 2013-14
Saints h +3 - oh yeah, the masterplan is working
Man City a -- ok, but these are good, aren't they, no one is going to beat them!!
Spurs a -- back on track
Villa h -1 oh well, we only dropped one point
West Ham a -3 oops
Everton h -2 yeah but we were winning on 90 minutes
West Brom h -- see, everything's fine
QPR a -- there we go, look at our strength
Hull h -2, oh well, unlucky boys

Total -5

QPR have scored more goals for the shoite that Balotelli.

Been done already?
Caulker is clinical, no denying that. Balo I thought would be decent, but he seems to be putting so much pressure on himself that he's sabotaging his instincts, if he had any. All the skill in the world, and most likely won't make in two years there.
