ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Funniest part of the whole summer was when Rodgers was so smug in saying 'we haven't done a spurs'. Bragging about how he'd identified all this top talent that would seamlessly fit into the team. Losing a world class player wasn't a problem because there was a philosophy and a system here. A few weeks into the season and it's all about a team in transition and a bedding in period for the new players. Worst of all he's happy to blame all the players for what are essentially his failings as though he's some omniscient manager who is too good for the current group of players, how he was up all hours the other night but the players couldn't put it into practise. I'd be embarrassed to have him as a manager. Massive fraud who has been given a budget any half decent manager would have won trophies with and probably the prem. His performance in the transfer market would probably have seen us go bust and would certainly have got him fired. Say what you want about Moyes but at least he had an eye for a player. Rodgers has traded off other manager's signings. Skrtel, Gerrard and Sterling are still his spine and he didn't bring any of them in.

When we were struggling Martinez refused to blame individual players and took the onus on himself. When we were doing well last season he praised the players no end. Rodgers poses around like a messianic Shankley mk II when its going well (ie when Suarez was around, another player he didn't buy). But when its not going well, its Balotelli's fault, its the defence's fault, don't blame the system, blame the players, its the refs fault, the opposition were negative blah blah. Basically anyone but himself. His handling of Balotelli has been a sham. He brought him in thinking he was some sort of Brian Clough and could turn him around where Mourinho and Mancini had failed. As soon as it's evident its not working he's washed his hands of him and used him as a scapegoat to cover up his own mistakes. He's an absolute coward and its no surprise he hasn't won anything in his career.

Bullseye!

The same people who were bragging that 'no player's bigger dan libpoolfc lad' are no doubt the ones whining away right now about not replacing him with another goal machine like Costa.

Now's the time they should be providing proof they're not a one man band. They cant do that though - they know why too: their pony manager who got lucky with Suarez and now hasnt got a clue how to construct a team himself.

Basically boils down to this mate doesn't it, The man has no idea what he's doing

Lets go back to when he first arrived and had his 180 page dossier on how he would transform Liverpool Football Club

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ool-owners-180-page-dossier-clubs-future.html

‘I presented the owners with a document on the culture, philosophy and game plan going forward,’ he explained. ‘It’s a model, a short cut to how I work, the kind of players I want tactically and the personality traits of players. The vision is simple.

‘The aim is to win the most trophies we can. That’s the bigger picture. The second (aim) is to play attractive, attacking football to win games. The third is to bring through as many of the young players as we possibly can. The principles are based on this.

He then proceeded to bore every man and his dog with his Tiki Taka game plan, He insisted that this was the pure way to play football and he was the man to bring the English game into the 21st century and in line with Spain, The Kopites lapped it up and had a full pre season waxing lyrical about his "philosophy"

He even gave an hour interview to Kopite TV to get across his masterplan

http://www.thisisanfield.com/2012/09/death-by-football-rodgers-outlines-his-liverpool-vision/

That was 2012

Fast forward to the beginning of the 2013 season and after guiding Liverpool to 7th, One place below little old Everton, Rodgers hits on a winning formula, Have the leagues best striker and stick pace around him and smash it up top at the earliest chance, It worked a treat to be fair and he looked like a cat that had got all the cream in the warehouse and smothered it on his new birds rat

Now he's lost his world class striker and he's left with the strikers he signed, Aspas/Lambert/Mario and Borini and those tactics don't seem to be working quite as well

Maybe its time to try the old tiki taka again

He must be dusting off the tika taka handbook because loads of their callers into the phone ins tonight were bemoaning the amount of possession they had in their own half and sideways passing. He's led them up the hill and now he's leading them back down again. No wonder even the RAWK maniacs are mumbling about Rodger's approach now.

Anders (Nordberg): We were excellent*, outstanding, after a tough physical game midweek** playing against a "good side" (we're talking HULL CITY here mate not Spurs, Everton, Arsenal or Man Utd) a great effort, deserved to win... nineteen shots (no goals pal), can't ask any more from the players (usual bs), given everything, deserved it... Lambert outstanding, excellent, tireless in training blah blah.. great skill by Mario, blah blah, OPENED UP HIS FOOT (????) too much, couldn't find the final touch.. conditions different this season excuse excuse excuse, real physical game blah, pride, move forward, up at 4.30 in the morning, I think, look where I've got this team blah blah.. tough, don't drop points (I think you just dropped two you bell)..

* you failed to beat Hull City
** a tonking

Seeing Rodgers make a laughing stock of himself and leave disgraced after all the b**locks we endured last season would be really sweet.

The early signs are that he is running into some serious problems that may last the whole season. The question is whether Sturridge can save them or not, because at the moment they look very much mid-table without him. Is he up to carrying them without Suarez?

Either way, Rodgers should be questioned as he had £130m in the summer to prepare for situations just like the Sturridge injury and fill out the squad enough to ensure that a few injuries wouldn't mean the wheels come off, let alone one measly injury ffs.
