It's a good job they were all there last season then and Gnasher pissing £130M up against the wall this summer makes no difference.
Phew, that's a relief. I thought Brendan had [Poor language removed] it up then.
Funniest part of the whole summer was when Rodgers was so smug in saying 'we haven't done a spurs'. Bragging about how he'd identified all this top talent that would seamlessly fit into the team. Losing a world class player wasn't a problem because there was a philosophy and a system here. A few weeks into the season and it's all about a team in transition and a bedding in period for the new players. Worst of all he's happy to blame all the players for what are essentially his failings as though he's some omniscient manager who is too good for the current group of players, how he was up all hours the other night but the players couldn't put it into practise. I'd be embarrassed to have him as a manager. Massive fraud who has been given a budget any half decent manager would have won trophies with and probably the prem. His performance in the transfer market would probably have seen us go bust and would certainly have got him fired. Say what you want about Moyes but at least he had an eye for a player. Rodgers has traded off other manager's signings. Skrtel, Gerrard and Sterling are still his spine and he didn't bring any of them in.
When we were struggling Martinez refused to blame individual players and took the onus on himself. When we were doing well last season he praised the players no end. Rodgers poses around like a messianic Shankley mk II when its going well (ie when Suarez was around, another player he didn't buy). But when its not going well, its Balotelli's fault, its the defence's fault, don't blame the system, blame the players, its the refs fault, the opposition were negative blah blah. Basically anyone but himself. His handling of Balotelli has been a sham. He brought him in thinking he was some sort of Brian Clough and could turn him around where Mourinho and Mancini had failed. As soon as it's evident its not working he's washed his hands of him and used him as a scapegoat to cover up his own mistakes. He's an absolute coward and its no surprise he hasn't won anything in his career.
Whatever happened to Moneyball? Remember when they bought what they thought were tremendous bargains in Sturridge and Coutinho and RAWK was full of this was the way to defeat the oil clubs. Buy cheap and young and sell big. That never really got off the ground did it?

The same people who were bragging that 'no player's bigger dan libpoolfc lad' are no doubt the ones whining away right now about not replacing him with another goal machine like Costa. They convinced themselves in the summer that they wouldn't miss Suarez which was laughable
They scored 101 goals last season, He scored 31 goals and had 12 assists, That accounts for 43 of those goals, Now how many pens/freekicks did he win that led to goals? Would 9/10 be a good quess? That would take the total contribution to 53, That's over 50% of there goals
Won't miss him though cos they signed Lambert and Lallana
Yeah, spot on that. A chancer and a coward of a manager.Funniest part of the whole summer was when Rodgers was so smug in saying 'we haven't done a spurs'.
