The excuses are really beyond pathetic.
We all know that world class players can score world class goals. We also know Yarmolenko is by far their best player.
Where was the plan to close him down, stop him playing, not give him time on the ball, and certainly not get into a position to shoot a world class goal?
Tactically inept. We completely ignored their biggest threat.

I used the word Tactically inept last night and expected some stick for it. I have been looking at the team of last year and this and the systems employed and I think this year we have basically played with no left midfield at all and about 5 different people at right mid. Last night at times we had rom, naisy ,ross and atsu all in advanced positions not getting back behind the ball, like you say tactically inept or football suicide.

We've had Osman and Pienaar injured for most of the season.

And people have been crying out for us to attack more - the general opinion was that an away goal would put us in a good position to go through.

But they look so fragile. They seemed to collapse physically and mentally after the second goal. Now Roberto has to rebuild their strength and confidence for the big game at QPR.

I'd back us heavily to win on Sunday, then we're safe, and we've gone from Doghouse battle and Euro challengers, to pulling out the flip flops, and getting on the beach. Everton that.
