2025/26 Dwight McNeil

Which poses the question, are FA Cup Winners Crystal Palace bigger club than Everton?

A thread idea there.

Palace are the bad guys in this, they've let him down.

However, can't spill any tears for a lad on 30 bags a week when filling the fridge is more expensive than ever.

He'll be here until the summer, get a move, and a payrise. The sentiment will change in that time as we all feel bad for him. The wheel will keep on spinning.

That's it isn't it. You can't just mess a person around because they're on mega wedge, but it's the nature of the game, deals always fall through for one reason or another. His missus is coming from a good place there but she is a bit tone death.

Being disappointed to stay at Everton over a failed move to Crystal Palace, says it all.

That's very unfair and inaccurate. This type of toxcity and gaslighting is exactly what drags the club and fanbase down, have a word with yourself.

He was told he wasn't wanted. He'd been promised a new start and a fair chance. Then when he's literally waiting to be given the paper to sign he's been completely ghosted without so much as an half-arsed sorry note. Classless.

Got to feel for him. He must be feeling awful after being messed around like that. I’m not his biggest fan but he’s still an Everton player and I believe this will bring the best out of him and if he gets game time he will give his all maybe waken up beast mode within him and plays out of his skin so to speak. I hope so and not dwell on this and go down a negative spiral. We are Everton supporters we should support him while he is here

And we’ve had enough wage thieves in recent years more than happy to sit on the bench and count their money until their contract runs out that we should be applauding a fringe player wanting to move on for better playing opportunities.

Feel sorry for McNeill. No idea who's fault it was - both clubs probably given the last minute rush. But FFS, you'd think he worked down a coal mine or something.

That post of his wife starts off by saying they're one of the lucky 0.01%.

Exactly. She should have just left it there. There's people out here who cant put a hot meal on the table and have real problems.

Its a bad buzz that Social Media over sharing. I just dont see the point.

Probably sitting next to each other on the couch while typing.

Surprised as they both seem sound.

Spot on. I bet Dwight's toes are curling and he's sweating like a glass blower's arse knowing he has to face the lads in training and have the piss ripped out of him.

The Burnley Beckhams have made a show of themselves.

That’s a shame I really thought your take on things was going to be more considered and nuanced than “rich people can’t be sad”.

Might there be a case that - for some, perhaps many - the echo chamber of Evertonian exceptionalism they wrap themselves up in is maybe similar to fascists and patriotism? That the protective ferocity they hit back at detractors might be one eyed, self serving and insincere. Designed to make them and their low IQ entitlement the most important part of the show, and excuse some really worrying behaviour that doesn’t belong in any decent society?

If I get more than 5 likes to this then it’s a sure sign that we need a thread to settle this matter once and for all, lads.

Dont see how it does either of them any favours, the lad is going to be looking for a club in four months time, last thing you want is a potential employer name blackened all over Social Media, other employers will take note.

I get they are frustrated, but you play the long game.
