2025/26 Dwight McNeil

I feel ashamed for words that have been said about him online

But mostly this is on whomever didn't get this done

Well its pretty clear they think its palace's fault

It's a business at the end of the day and these things will continue to happen. But I'll never understand why clubs leave things to the last hour on deadline. It's a sign of a disorganised club and leads to situations like this were players get let down. It's certainly all very avoidable with better forward planning.

Not even gonna go mad at Palace here - it’s not like we don’t routinely leave deals to the last hour of the last day of the window - and occasionally muck things up. Odidja Ofoe..

It would have been a good deal for all parties, we would have got our money back, Dwight would have got a fresh start and more minutes.

Hopefully he gets his move in the summer, until then we'd do well to remember he scored a lot of crucial goals for us at a time when not many others stepped up. As much as it would have been good to have a clean break, that will happen sooner or later and he deserves our support until he goes.

To be fair to Palace they thought the Mateta deal was going through and they'd have the money for Larson and McNeil. Once that went belly up something had to give and it was McNiel.

Still could communicate that with the player. Subject to this etc. and have the decency to call when it goes south.

At very least it sounds like the communication should have been better

They wanted Larsson a month ago and Mateta wanted to leave a month ago. The fact all this went on to the 2nd February shows they are not a well ran club right now. If this was Everton I'd be saying exactly the same. I've no idea why clubs insist on leaving things to the very last minute because you end up with stuff like this. Why can't top level clubs show a bit of proactivity and organisation

And yes it's big money business. These things happen. But that's even more reason to not let things run to the last few minutes.
