2025/26 Dwight McNeil

He'd underwent the medical so both clubs must have agreed a deal by then.
Numerous resports have now said palace never submitted the paperwork on time.

A deal could be agreed in principle but the results of the medical could scupper that as we have seen over the years with us.

Palace never submitted the paperwork on time, could this be due to both clubs haggling over the fee?

Still could communicate that with the player. Subject to this etc. and haven't get decency to call when it goes south.
Totally agree, Medical done so to me deal agreed. Sounds like agreement with player was done earlier. A move of home etc. Surely just speak to him to say they are pulling out would be decent thing to do

Well its pretty clear they think its palace's fault

It's a business at the end of the day and these things will continue to happen. But I'll never understand why clubs leave things to the last hour on deadline. It's a sign of a disorganised club and leads to situations like this were players get let down. It's certainly all very avoidable with better forward planning.
totally agree, we are as guilty of disorganisation as any other club, we handle every window so cack handedly, in the main.

It’s like we forget you can sort stuff out or even scout players between transfer windows.

Not gonna slag palace off, people in glass houses n all that.

And were obviously correct to do so because they came back with a much better one.

I really don’t think the issue here is time, although Palace may frame it as such. They could have done it and they elected not to.

Business decision at the end of the day, we rejected the first offer because we wanted more.

Palace might have had a change of heart last minute and felt that are over paying so never submitted in the end.

Always amazes me how poorly we treat players because they're a bit limited. I've never looked at Dwight and thought 'he doesn't care, he's just taking the the proverbial out of our club'

Still, won't stop some fans from treating them exactly the same as the likes of Delph and Williams who genuinely just didn't care and deserved every bit of stick they got.

Dwight's a good lad. He's been poor this season but he's not a signing I'll look back on and think 'what a knobhead he was' .

If only the transfer window was opened for a month and not just for 6 hours maybe things could of been sorted out..............Oh wait!

Agreed but it was Palace who were the trainwreck on this one. They are a mess.

Funnily enough I’ve watched him sulk and walk around the pitch on multiple occasions and have genuinely never understood the “he always busts a gut and gives 100%” thing.

Whatever people's thoughts on him, and I've been as critical as anyone about his pretty atrocious level of performance this season, hopefully people can get behind him in what will presumably be his last appearances over the coming months. One way or another he has been unfairly messed about last 48 hours and while I'm not suggesting footballers should get loads of sympathy, it's still really poor.

Worst thing is, you can guarantee Moyes will play him over George

not so sure yeno, i think mcneil’s burnt his bridges in that leeds game

if we go back to earlier in the season charly was starting ahead of him, and what opportunities dibling did have where also ahead of him

only when injuries piled up, and dibling underperformed that mcneil got a look in again

I think before this season his effort and commitment levels could rarely be questioned. His performance levels have dropped significantly this season though. He hasn't been able to play with the intensity you need at this level for whatever reason.
