I think you can wish McNeil went for £20m and hope he still does in the summer, feel empathy for his situation because it sounds like he had prepared for a move and then heard nothing and you can also try to support him when he invevitably plays next week.

I was thrilled when the news came through and I’m disappointed CP played with his confidence/emotions/psyche like that, but if the lad pulls a blue shirt on and steps on that pitch I want him to do well for the team and for himself.

To be fair to Palace they thought the Mateta deal was going through and they'd have the money for Larson and McNeil. Once that went belly up something had to give and it was McNiel.

Between messing McNeil around and trying to swindle Milan for a player who is going to be out for 4 months needing surgery it hasn’t been a great look for Palace.
