Alright, I'll chip in to distract Pete with a pint or 12 so we can move on from this WUM-fest.
Offer still stands...

OMFG
It also doesn't even make sense. What isn't peaceful about this protest?
Offer still stands...
So with that last line, you admit that your arguments are [Poor language removed]? What's going on here Pete?
Your game here appears only to be to annoy the Americans on this board.
You marginalised what the confederate flag stands for and represents, you brought up the number of presidents who've owned slaves, you compared a young black man protesting to the actions of ISIS and ridiculed his first amendment rights and you keep trying to drag the discussion away from what it's mostly about, civil rights.
You may not be referring to black players directly, but you're swimming damned close to the edge.
OMFG
You spout out idiocy, pure and simple. As an example, see your second reply below to me about "who said anything about black people". You are so intellectually lazy it is embarrassing. You're not questioning anyone's views, you're just talking crap.

Are you like this in your work. Do you normally attempt to denigrate by using words or phrases such as 'idiocy', 'intellectually lazy', 'talking crap'. I find your fallback position to instantly use insulting language rather off putting tbh......

This is insane. They are literally American citizens.
You disagree with sports getting involved in politics. Fine. However, it is an American tradition. As for the playing of the National Anthem at sporting events, the act alone is a political one so what you are really saying is you object to the politics of those who are kneeling. How on earth am I swimmming 'close to the edge'. I disagree with sports getting involved with politics and I disagree with people who disrespect a country's national anthem. What is so hard to understand. I don't post in here to wind anyone up, but neither will I follow sheep like with the flow on something with which I disagree just to keep people happy. We all understand that these sport stars want to make some form of protest, well here's an idea, don't play, close down the whole game, receive no income, do a bit of suffering for their cause. Then they will get respect, unlike the disrespect they are giving to those for whom the Anthem was written. But hey, I'm not an American, defend your own Flag and Anthem....

I actually did that, but decided he was of no importance to the debate...
Kaepernick isn't playing and doesn't have a contract in the NFL.
Regarding knowing about Kaepernick you said:
It's a civil rights protest, started by this individual. The fact that you disregard the man and the reason for his protest to focus solely on fake patriotism at an athletics event is to me utterly disgusting and shows a lack of basic empathy and understanding.
Should've seen this coming when you more or less called the previous first lady a nobody.
