So you don't understand the beginnings of the protest. You "used to" have an understanding of how Americans viewed the flag and anthem. You create a false comparison of the NFL players and ISIS. All respect mate, but what are you really bringing to this discussion?

I don't know what WUM is but seems you are being a bit foolish or, as the kids in America say, "derp".

Stands for Wind Up Merchant

nope, nobody. not from this.

and, just to be clear, you literally stated this: "The [American] flag is not an American symbol for freedom. If anything that is what the confederate flag was"

like I said earlier, stick to Brexit WUMming. you don't even know how much you don't know here.

Disappointed tbh, you're better than that.....

Disappointed tbh, you're better than that.....

what did I say that isn't true?

you are talking complete nonsense, and it is obvious to all. you don't have the slightest idea what you're on about.

everyone else reading this thread is disappointed in you.

go home, drink some water, and tomorrow afternoon, actually read something about the US Civil War.

The flag is not an American symbol for freedom. If anything that is what the confederate flag was. Your flag is just a representation of its countries constituent parts and history. You love the heart holding when you want yet disregard it or excuse it when a political point is being made.....

Okay, sure, whatever you say...

This whole exchange could be summed up by "Peteblue has an opinion: he doesn't like black NFL players taking a knee". Why make it more complicated than that Pete?

Wtf? So naturalized citizens don't get the same privacy rights as citizens born in the country? Does this also apply to the First Lady? Is someone going to show up at our door to debate my views on Koemans freezing out of Kenny?

WASHINGTON – Federal officials are planning to collect social media information on all immigrants, including permanent residents and naturalized citizens, a move that has alarmed lawyers and privacy groups worried about how the information will be used. The Department of Homeland Security published the new rule in the Federal Register last week, saying it wants to include "social media handles, aliases, associated identifiable information, and search results" as part of people's immigration file. The new requirement takes effect Oct. 18.

DHS and US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Adam Schwartz, an attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which advocates for privacy and free expression, said the plan was disturbing. "We see this as part of a larger process of high tech surveillance of immigrants and more and more people being subjected to social media screening," Schwartz told BuzzFeed News. "There's a growing trend at the Department of Homeland Security to be snooping on the social media of immigrants and foreigners and we think it's an invasion of privacy and deters freedom of speech."

Be honest, it woke a few up......and I would hope made one or two think a bit more about 'just kneeling'......

Bull$h1t...every time you spout out idiocy and get called out on it for what it is--idiocy, you then lapse back into the whole "I'm just trying to get people to see both sides...make people think" nonsense. This is such an infantile and condescending tactic, if that's what you're actually claiming to do.

Mansplaining MLK to MLKs own daughter is an interesting move
