Why even post such rubbish.

If you knew a fair amount of people living and working in a City. Both working and upper class, local and foreign who gave you opinions....and you had been there....and the place was frequenly in the media and on the screen

Thats a pretty good place to have an understanding.

If you knew anything about white collar crime you would know traditional financial markets and crypto crime are punished disproportionately.

Just the same as in the case of Trump where others have not been punished to this extent who no doubt are doing the same or worse.

Its all common sense...you seem to post depending on your feelings. Not logic.

Excuse me @GrandOldTeam
Do I get the trophy here? Nipped in on the final lap and stole the gold.

This is like the Israel thread...a lot of brainwashed and biased lemmings who cant actually discuss objectively.

Like baby lemmings.
Everyone manages healthy debate but when you just post right wing nonsense based upon image, perception and what ever right wing sources you call news, then you are going to get picked apart. Seriously, 99% of what you write in these threads is genuine bollox that only a fool would believe it. To be so constantly wrong and out of touch is quite bizarre.

Whatever bubble you live in needs popping, for your own good

I think we'll see in the elections. The 'working class' people i know are not short of cash as theyve been successful and the foreigners are beyond loaded.

Both groups far far far beyond my means.

Their opinions on the City changed quite drastically.
We'll see what in elections?
whether NYC has turned in to a craphole?
What if NYC returns mostly Democratic representatives, does that mean you're wrong?
Maybe my working class term was incorrect.
I'm refering to service industry people who have a couple of jobs and make minimum wage or just a bit more.
NYC has got to be tough for them.
Fair play to you if all the working class people and emigrants you know are loaded but I'd imagine it's not an accurate picture.

Trump hasnt been punished yet, at least not in this case.

The only people ive known from or in new york do very well for themselves. I know them from work or through work friends.

A mix of old money and those who have come from nothing. The old money, or most of them say its just as usual there while the rest say its alot worse.

I think we'll see that I can manipulate the results to suit an agenda lol

If democrats do well in NYC then it would prove the jury were always on the democrat side...if republicans were to win then it would be because theyre appalled at how NY is now and/or how trump was treated.

Are you based there? If so how long for?

Trump hasnt been punished yet, at least not in this case.

He has been punished simply due to the process distraction while he would ordinarily be focused on the campaign. Also the reputational damage.

Its no coincidence that the next time he is in attendance is 4 days before an important republican party event (its getting later here and i forget the name).

I would like to think I'm well capable of that but it is tough when you come out with the kind of view of NYC that makes me question where you get your info. "the general mood/feeling" is not an acceptable source.

I was referring to the nonsense posts above mine.

Really weird how people continually forget that John Edwards, a former Democratic candidate for president, was prosecuted under the Obama DOJ for hush money to his mistress and I don’t recall anyone saying it was a witchhunt. Just that he was a total sleaze bag.

Following his 2008 presidential campaign, Edwards was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 3, 2011, on six felony charges of violating multiple federal campaign contribution laws to cover up an extramarital affair to which he eventually admitted. He was found not guilty on one count, and the judge declared a mistrial on the remaining five charges, as the jury was unable to come to an agreement.[2] The Justice Department dropped the remaining charges and did not attempt to retry Edwards.[3]Though he was not convicted of any crime, the revelation that he had engaged in an extramarital affair and fathered a child while his wife, Elizabeth, was dying of cancer, gravely damaged his public image and essentially ended his political career.
