Yes but as minority leader with a Dem POTUS and Dem House that's a worthless position anyway. And he got what he wanted the last four years. So what more can he do anyway is my point.
Whaaaaat?
The Republicans have six SCOTUS appointees because McConnell as minority leader successfully baited Reid into deploying the nuclear option for district and circuit appointees, opening the door for McConnell to turn the tables later on SCOTUS nominations.
Underestimate McConnell's capacity for obstructionism in the minority at your peril.
If you want to argue that minority leader in the House is good for a seat at the Gang of Four intel briefings, a bag of chips and some dip, I'll agree. Different chamber with very different rules.
OT: Agreeing with Shaub that the SCOTUS ruling on emoluments is nuts. The logic goes something like this:
Hoteliers: Trump stole business from us by steering government business to his hotels and inducing foreign business to his hotels as a means of currying favor. That's prohibited under the emoluments clause. We clearly have standing and are seeking redress.
SCOTUS: Is he continuing to steal business?
Hoteliers: Well, no.
SCOTUS: Case dismissed!
Hoteliers: Um, what about the money he already stole? Are you saying that if Bonnie and Clyde had taken out a full page ad in the New York Times announcing their retirement from bank robbing, you'd have just let them go?
