They are also very deep into misogyny. They believe the only role for women is married to a "real" man (ie them) , staying at home having babies and being a homemaker. They have a term called Western Chauvinism. So they are sort of a bizarre mix of Misogynists, White supremacists and Incels.

The game is not over by a long chalk. To say that Trump succeeded merely by giving simple answers to simple folk is simplistic in itself. Biden cannot connect with those people immediately because the mental stew that they are in is still pulsating and liable to erupt at any time.

What he has to do is connect over a long period with those people by offering hope through economic means. Jobs and affordable housing would be a start.

So, it seems pretty clear that McConnell, after claiming Trump helped foment the insurrection is going to vote to not indict Trump. That's my guess. His verbal castigation will be something he can point to when he traitorously votes to acquit Trump. Because he's a 'effing POS.

I know people are going to read that and immediately jump to thinking it definitely implicates a handful of Republican congresspeople, but it could just as easily be the Capitol police. They could easily be in communication with the colleagues over their radios and know exactly where everyone was. While that’s still obviously terrible, it’s also not necessarily as scandalous as a cabal of representatives pulling the strings.
