It just seems to me that USA is irredeemably divided, pretty much on regional lines.

As some might suggest the UK is and large parts of the EU.

Young conservatives are the worst conservatives. I can kind of understand bitter old men becoming conservative but the only way you become a young conservative is by being a massive bell end.

A huge number of them grew up in Evangelical households.

Of course, American Evangelicalism is now more akin to the gospel of white grievance than love your neighbor.
