The “squad“, and their staff, have been under almost constant death threats, didn’t see these members too concerned about that.
I do have sympathy though, can’t be easy especially for the families, but as you say it is a risk that comes with the job and always has done as Scalise and Giffords have shown.
In each of the last two campaigns, I've been present in the local Clinton/Biden office when a Trump supporter came in threatened all of us. Sadly, it's somewhat common amongst the right-wing lunatic fringe. Heck, abortion clinics deal with this kind of crap every single day.
That these Reps are now too scared to do their jobs tells you just how serious this is and buckling to the pressure is a complete personal and professional failure. Do your job or resign.
Of course, I'm not referring to the Gym Jordan (he's experienced at defending assault), Mo Brooks, Louie Gohmert, Josh Hawley or Ted Cruz types. They are too far gone and deserve expulsion. They are moral cowards and ethically compromised.
